On the afternoon of November 11, Mr. Ishiba Shigeru officially defeated his opponent Yoshihiko Noda - Chairman of the largest opposition Constitutional Democratic Party and became the 103rd Prime Minister of Japan after 2 rounds of voting in the House of Representatives.

As expected, Mr. Ishiba Shigeru had to go through a second round of voting - the first second round of voting in 30 years, in an extraordinary special plenary session of the Japanese Parliament, and at the same time overcame his opponent Yoshihiko Noda - Chairman of the largest opposition Constitutional Democratic Party to become the 103rd Prime Minister of Japan.

According to the results of the second round of voting, Mr. Ishiba won 221 votes, Mr. Noda won 160 votes, while 84 votes for other nominees were considered invalid. In the previous first round of voting, Mr. Ishiba also received 221 votes, while Mr. Noda received 151 votes, neither party received a majority of 233 votes.

With this result, Mr. Ishiba Shigeru officially continues to be Prime Minister of the Land of the Rising Sun and this evening, Mr. Ishiba will form a new Cabinet. It is expected that the Japanese leader will appoint Mr. Keisuke Suzuki as Minister of Justice, Mr. Taku Eto as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to replace the old cabinet members who failed in the House of Representatives election.

Meanwhile, Hiromasa Nakano, a representative of the Komeito Party, will be appointed as Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to replace Saito Tetsuo. Other positions in the Cabinet are expected to be reappointed by Ishiba.

After completing the formation of the new cabinet, Mr. Ishiba will hold a press conference to explain Japan's key policies in the coming period.
