The above results were announced by the New York Times and Siena College on March 3. This is the largest lead ever recorded for former President Trump over his opponent in polls conducted by the New York Times/Siena College since he first entered the race for the White House in 2015.
There are many reasons for this result, including concerns about Mr. Biden's age, the conflict in Gaza, border security issues and inflation.
Former President Trump also continued to receive optimistic signals when the poll results showed that the majority of Hispanic voters supported him at 46% of respondents, while Mr. Biden received the support of 40% of voters.
According to Pew Research , this is good news for Mr. Trump's campaign team because the Hispanic voter community tends to vote for Democratic presidential candidates. In the 2020 election, Mr. Biden won an overwhelming 59% of the vote, compared to only 38% for Mr. Trump among this large voting bloc.
In another related development, the border issue and the high rate of illegal immigration are hot spots between two fated rivals in the race to the White House.
According to opinion polls, approval of Mr. Biden's immigration policy is generally relatively low.
An ABC News/Ipsos poll in February found that only 26% of American adults believed Biden would do a better job on immigration, while 44% believed Trump would. Republicans overwhelmingly supported the former president on the issue.
On February 29, both President Biden and Mr. Trump visited the southern border of the United States.
Just before the visit, the current President criticized his predecessor for exploiting the issue for personal political gain, when Mr. Trump asked Senate Republicans not to support a bipartisan border security deal of the Biden administration.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Mr. Trump's campaign said that the former US President "will outline a plan to put the country's interests first and ensure border security immediately upon taking office" if he wins the election.
