
This morning, October 18, in Hanoi, the closing session of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 2024 - 2029) was solemnly held.
There were 1,052 delegates representing all walks of life, classes, ethnicities, religions, armed forces, overseas Vietnamese and Front officials at all levels attending the congress during 3 working days from October 16 to 18.
Presenting the Report synthesizing comments and discussions at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that the Congress had received 110 reports contributing comments on the content of the Political Report. Among them, there were 64 comments from provinces and centrally-run cities; 32 comments from member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; 14 comments from individuals representing different classes of people and the Vietnamese community abroad.
The content of the prepared reports is of high quality. Many comments and assessments have been researched and summarized from practice, recommendations and proposals are specific, convincing, and suitable to the requirements of innovation in the content and methods of Front work.
There were 74 comments at the Congress, of which 12 were made directly at the conference hall; 41 were made directly and 21 were made in writing at 5 discussion centers.

During the discussion sessions, delegates of the Congress promoted the spirit of democracy, high responsibility, frankness, objectivity, and expressed many enthusiastic opinions, contributing to perfecting the contents of the Congress.
At the closing session, the Congress listened to a report summarizing the results of the presentations and discussions; speech by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on the situation and tasks of socio-economic development of the country, coordination between the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; speech by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong on coordination between the National Assembly and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Presidium of the Congress reported on the results of the 1st Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X (2024 - 2029) and introduced the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X; and said goodbye to those who will not continue to participate in the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X.
Previously, at the working session on the afternoon of October 17, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front approved the number of members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, including 405 members, the Presidium of 72 members, the Standing Committee of 6 members, and the non-professional Vice Chairmen of 8 members.
At the first conference of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, democratic consultation elected 67 members to join the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The 5 vacant positions will be filled during the term.
The conference democratically elected 4 members of the Presidium of the 10th tenure to join the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, including: Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, who was highly trusted by the consultation, to continue holding the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to hold the position of Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Member of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure; Ms. To Thi Bich Chau - Member of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure.
The conference democratically elected 7 members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, to hold the position of non-professional Vice Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure.

Speaking at the ceremony to accept the assignment, on behalf of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, respectfully thanked the Congress for its high trust and democratic consultation in electing 397 members to the Committee, 67 members to the Presidium; and in electing the Chairman, Vice Chairman - General Secretary, 2 full-time Vice Chairmen and 7 part-time Vice Chairmen.
Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized his deep sense of honor and great responsibility, promised to be devoted to the assigned tasks, promote intelligence, uphold responsibility, work to the best of his ability; overcome all difficulties, strive to complete the assigned tasks in the best way. Focus on synchronously, flexibly, creatively implementing tasks and solutions, maintaining solidarity, unanimity, consensus, successfully implementing the directions, goals, and tasks set forth by the Congress.
"We look forward to receiving the support and assistance of you, comrades, member organizations, and representatives of social classes and strata, and overseas Vietnamese, so that we can fulfill the important responsibility entrusted to us by the Congress," said Mr. Do Van Chien.
