Mr. Dang Thuan Phong ceased to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Society.

On the afternoon of April 23, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh attended the ceremony to announce the resolution on personnel work and rewards of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Dai Thang announced the decision of the National Assembly Standing Committee on retirement with benefits and policies according to Decree No. 178 of the Government for Mr. Dang Thuan Phong, a member of the 15th National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh affirmed that Mr. Dang Thuan Phong, former Vice Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Social Affairs, was a National Assembly delegate in the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th terms.

Implementing the policies of the Party and State and according to personal wishes, Mr. Dang Thuan Phong's request to retire under Decree 178 is not simply a personal decision, but also demonstrates a sense of responsibility, exemplary behavior, silent sacrifice but full of courage, demonstrating the character of a cadre who puts the common interest above personal interests.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly acknowledged and appreciated the exemplary spirit and willingness to sacrifice personal interests for the common goal of streamlining the organization in accordance with the spirit of the Party and State.

Mr. Dang Thuan Phong has participated in the National Assembly since the 11th term until now, holding many positions from full-time National Assembly delegate of Ben Tre province (2002), Standing Member of the Law Committee (2005), Standing Member of the Judiciary Committee (2007).

He then held the position of Standing Member, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Society from 2011 to present. During his work, Mr. Phong has always been an exemplary model of morality, intelligence and spirit of serving the country and people.

Although he has officially retired from management work, with his capacity, prestige and sense of responsibility, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly believes that Mr. Dang Thuan Phong will continue to accompany and contribute to the activities of the Committee for Culture and Society, continuing to contribute to the country and the people.

Although he has resigned from his position, during the remaining term of the 15th National Assembly, as a National Assembly delegate, Mr. Dang Thuan Phong pledges to fulfill his duties and responsibilities as an elected representative, meeting the expectations of voters and people.

Mr. Phong was born on July 8, 1964, in Tien Thuy commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province. Professional qualifications: Senior Thanh Van, Bachelor of Law.
