President Joe Biden's son pleaded guilty to felony tax and gun crimes without parole and could face up to 17 years in prison. The judge is expected to deliver a verdict in December.

Jean-Pierre added that she had no comment on the amnesty the president intends to issue at the end of his term, including pardons for any administration officials or individuals whom President-elect Donald Trump has warned of legal action against.
"I know that in the coming weeks the amnesty will make up a large portion of the questions we receive. I don't have anything to share at the moment. We will provide an update when we have more information."
According to ABC News, no son of a sitting U.S. president has ever faced a criminal trial. President Biden told ABC News in an interview in June that he would not pardon his son.
In the same month, Hunter Biden was convicted of three felony charges related to purchasing firearms in 2018 while also facing allegations of drug addiction. In a separate case, in September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts related to federal taxes in Los Angeles.
Also related to presidential pardons, according to The Hill, Donald Trump said in late October that he would not rule out pardoning Hunter Biden if he won the election.
Mr. Trump also said that he might pardon many of the more than 1,500 people charged in connection with the attack on the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
During his first presidential term, Trump pardoned numerous political allies—including five defendants convicted in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation—as well as celebrities, Republican members of Congress, and the father of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
