This caused a shortage of supply, and prices of vegetables, tubers, and fruits tended to increase compared to before the storm.
Lam Dong Province's Department of Industry and Trade requested that localities in the province mobilize vegetable, root and fruit suppliers to actively respond and participate in supporting people affected by storm No. 3. At the same time, increase the supply of agricultural products to the northern provinces with the most stable quality and prices. The Department also requested that enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities, and suppliers of vegetables, root and fruit in the province respond and increase the supply of agricultural products to the northern provinces; have preferential policies and price support for people affected by the recent storms and floods.
Previously, on September 9, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Document No. 6883/BCT-TTTN on ensuring the supply of essential goods to stabilize the market after the storm. Specifically, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct the Department of Industry and Trade, the Market Management Department and functional forces in the area to focus on implementing market management and supervision in each locality. Timely detect unusual developments of goods circulating in the market, especially for essential goods, ensure that no violations related to hoarding and illegal price increases occur; closely follow market developments, prices, supply and demand of essential goods in the area.
Therefore, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province also issued a document assigning the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and review the supply capacity of goods, especially essential goods, and have a plan to proactively coordinate or report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate the supply of goods for localities directly affected by storms and floods.
