Vietnamese cuisine at the 2024 Paris Olympics
Indeed, pho has long been a very familiar name to international friends when referring to Vietnamese cuisine. Along with banh mi, com tam, goi cuon... pho is always in the top Asian cuisines chosen by international culinary sites. With nem cuon, instead of calling it by the familiar name Spring roll, the organizers specially introduced nem as a Vietnamese dish made from thin rice rolls, filled with vegetables, vermicelli and meats. The ingredients and nutritional information are also clearly stated for athletes to easily refer to. Spring rolls are served vegetarian and suggest options for vegetarian athletes. The Paris 2024 Olympic homepage also introduces the dining area, which will be divided into 6 main areas: 2 French cuisine areas, 1 Asian cuisine area, 1 African cuisine area and 2 other international cuisine areas, served by Michelin-starred chefs. The purpose of this is to give athletes a comfortable dining experience like in their own country, meeting the tastes and cultures of the countries. Mr. Grégoire Béchu, sustainable food project manager at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, said that athletes were asked about their eating habits and preferences before the Olympics so that the organizing committee could meet their needs. "We try to meet all needs and expectations to provide athletes with the best possible food."Vietnamese dishes are always highly appreciated by foreign culinary websites - Photo: VET
