2024 Olympics: Vietnamese Ambassador to France visits and encourages Vietnamese Sports Delegation

According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in France, cited by a VNA correspondent in Paris, on the afternoon of July 31, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang visited the Olympic Village to encourage the Vietnamese sports delegation participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang was welcomed by Mr. Dang Ha Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympics, along with other officials and all the athletes and coaches of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. Mr. Dang Ha Viet, on behalf of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, introduced each member and athlete participating in this Olympic Games to Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang; informed him of some initial results and achievements of the Delegation, the living conditions and training regime of the athletes at the Olympic Village, as well as the upcoming competition program… The Head of Delegation also emphasized the goal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at this Olympic Games: to surpass themselves, go as far as possible, and strive for medals. He stated that from the beginning of the tournament until now, our athletes have consistently demonstrated high determination and responsibility, striving to compete to the best of their abilities for the national flag, while also prioritizing the responsibility of learning from experience and interacting with international athletes in preparation for the upcoming ASIAD and Olympic Games.

At the meeting, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang expressed his honor to meet the Vietnamese Sports Delegation and interact with the athletes, extending congratulations to the athletes for completing their competitions in the past few days. He emphasized that the Embassy, Vietnamese representative offices in France, and the Vietnamese community in France always care about, follow, and support the activities and matches of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in France. He expressed his pride in seeing the red flag with a yellow star flying over the Seine River alongside friends from all over the world, demonstrating the striving spirit of Vietnamese sports towards new achievements, while contributing to the overall atmosphere and spirit of the Olympics for friendship and peace among nations.

Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang also highly appreciated the tenacious fighting spirit and achievements of the athletes, wishing the delegation good luck, always maintaining an optimistic and positive spirit for the next competitions, and continuing to contribute to the glory of the country's sports and the image of Vietnam at this special Olympic Games.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang, representing the Vietnamese Embassy in France, presented gifts to encourage the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, took commemorative photos with all members and athletes in the Delegation, and toured some of the Delegation's living quarters at the Olympic Village.
