OCB has achieved the title of Strong Vietnamese Brand 2024 for many consecutive years.

With its strategy of continuously promoting digital transformation and sustainable development, Orient Commercial Bank (OCB ) continues to receive the Vietnam Strong Brand Award 2024, marking its fifth consecutive year of recognition. This year, the Vietnam Strong Brand Award was organized with the theme "Pioneering Green Investment". The evaluation criteria focused on the strategies, action programs, and results achieved by businesses, clearly demonstrating their digital transformation, green transformation, development of energy-saving production models, prioritizing the use of clean energy; brand protection; and emphasis on employee-oriented policies and social responsibility for the community. Therefore, to participate in the selection process, each organization had to go through several rigorous rounds of surveys and evaluations.

At OCB , digital transformation has always been a priority strategy to differentiate itself in the market. Specifically, at the beginning of 2024, the bank launched the new generation OCB OMNI application, setting a new standard in the digital banking sector with features that optimally meet the needs of Vietnamese consumers in terms of speed, convenience, and security. As of September 30, 2024, the number of transactions on OCB OMNI increased by 71% year-on-year, current account deposits (CASA) increased by 26% compared to September 2023, and term deposits (eSaving) increased by 37%.

The bank is also increasingly applying artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and machine learning in its research to develop solutions that meet user needs. Notably, OCB is one of the few banks in the system to implement Open Banking in general and Open API in particular, connecting the bank with partners and allowing them to access and use the bank's data and services in a controlled, safe, and secure manner. Currently, OCB has over 150 APIs ready for integration, meeting the diverse needs of partners from various industries. Open API products and services have been meeting the needs of all business customer segments across industries with powerful processing performance, specifically: processing an average of over 2 million transactions per month since the beginning of 2024. In August 2024 alone, nearly 3 million transactions were processed. The total transaction value in the first eight months of 2024 reached over 18 trillion VND. “As part of our established strategy, OCB is building a research and development center for Open Banking (OBH) products, aiming to support businesses in deploying these products. OBH focuses on creating groundbreaking products that deliver practical value to businesses and users, helping to create a more complete and secure payment market and protect users. We place great faith in Open Banking because it represents a significant opportunity for OCB to lead and create a clear distinction in the market,” said an OCB representative. Notably, with unwavering commitment and effort, in 2023, OCB invested heavily in and implemented its sustainable development strategy to become a pioneering Green Bank in Vietnam. The goal of sustainable development is not only to increase long-term economic value for the bank but also to protect the environment and create a better society. Therefore, OCB has also outlined clear programs and actions to achieve its goals according to the set roadmap: 2025 – Pursuing a sustainable business development journey; 2027 – A pioneering bank in sustainable development; and 2050 – Partnering with the Government and Regulatory Agencies for the Net Zero goal.
