Tears and smiles on the death anniversary of Meritorious Artist Le Cung Bac

The family of the late director and Meritorious Artist Le Cung Bac recently held a memorial service (2 years since his death) for him, and at the same time, released the memoir Dust of the Clouds, recorded by his wife and actress Hong Anh according to her own words. Notably, at this event, some memorabilia related to his life were also auctioned for charity purposes.

The ceremony took place in a cozy atmosphere with the presence of family members, colleagues, close friends... Director Tran Ngoc Phong played and sang the song "A Place to Go Back" as a tribute to the late talented, versatile director who was also very passionate about music .

Many films, memories, memories and stories about director Le Cung Bac were also recreated and shared at the event. The guests were able to watch together the films associated with his name: The Beauty of Tay Do, The Stream of Life, The Horse Hoofs of the South, The Beauty of Sai Thanh, The Transcendental Fate …

Actress Hong Anh said that in her 28 years in the industry, she had a very special relationship with the late director. Her first role in the film industry was given to her by him – the film Nguoi dep Tay Do , co-starring with Viet Trinh. When he made his last film Gia tu co lon , she was invited to play the main role for the second time.

Talking about the opportunity to record his confidences in the memoir Dust of the Clouds , actress Hong Anh said she had to be very skillful to convince the late director to agree to let her write a memoir about her.

After that, she and actress Vo Song Huong came to talk, meet, and record the conversations. For some reasons, Vo Song Huong could not participate in writing the book. Finally, she and the late director's wife - Mrs. Bui Thi Giang were the ones to complete this book.

Some of the late director's memorabilia were selected by his family to be auctioned for charity.

According to Mrs. Bui Thi Giang – the late director’s wife, before he passed away, director Le Cung Bac hoped that somehow those memorabilia would generate some money to help those in difficult circumstances. Therefore, the family chose some of the beloved memorabilia that accompanied the late artist’s life to auction for charity purposes.

Attending the event, Viet Trinh said that she initially refused to appear because she had retired. However, after being persuaded by the late director's wife, she attended and took on the role of leading the auction. She was the first person to buy two of his memorabilia, a pipe and a water pipe, worth 20 million VND. The actress later gave these two memorabilia to her family.

Some of the souvenirs put up for auction include: a watch that has been with him for decades in the profession (successfully auctioned for 25 million), 2 hats (20 million), 2 bottles of wine he was given when participating in film events (25 million), a bottle of perfume (12 million)... along with the money guests spent buying books at the event, the family will donate all to charity.

The memoir Dust and Sand on the Clouds is 224 pages long, consisting of 6 chapters: Nostalgia, Difficult Childhood, Youth - Beautiful Years, The Path to Career Formation (before 1975), Fate after April 30, 1975, My Beloved Family and Journey to Passion.
