As of March 2024, the Nui Thanh District Party Committee has 61 grassroots party organizations (TCCS), including 22 party committees and 39 party cells; of which 223 party cells are directly under the grassroots party committee with a total of 5,400 party members.
Since implementing Resolution No. 02/2021 of the Nui Thanh District Party Committee on building a comprehensive and strong grassroots political system (2021 - 2025 period), the District Party Committee has proposed many breakthrough solutions to strengthen leadership, direction and improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength of the Party's Party Committee and the quality of cadres and party members.
The District Party Committee has assigned members of the District Party Committee, leaders and specialists of the advisory and support agencies to the District Party Committee to stand and attend activities at the Party cell groups; Party Committee members of communes and towns to stand and take charge of each subordinate Party cell, assigning responsibilities to review, evaluate and classify the quality at the end of the year. Thereby, some commune Party Committees and Party cells of villages and residential blocks that had limited activities in the past have had positive changes in Party building work.
Nui Thanh is implementing the policy of Party Committee Secretaries concurrently being Chairmen of People's Councils at all levels. Practice shows that when Party Committee Secretaries are Chairmen of People's Councils, the activities of People's Councils are stronger and more effective. The policy of Party Committee Secretaries concurrently being Chairmen of People's Committees at the commune level is currently implemented in 3 communes and towns (Nui Thanh town, Tam Son commune, Tam Thanh commune).
In practice, the leadership, direction and implementation of the Party's policies and resolutions, the State's policies and laws, and local political tasks are more synchronous and flexible.
Besides the achieved results, the work of building the grassroots political system in Nui Thanh district still has some shortcomings and limitations.
According to Secretary of the Nui Thanh District Party Committee Nguyen Tri An, the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system in general still has many limitations that need to be overcome. The organization of the implementation of some Party resolutions is still a weak link.
Ideological work still has limitations, lacks timeliness, and is not very convincing. Some cadres and party members are not pioneers and lack exemplary behavior. Self-criticism and criticism in many places are still formal. The implementation of exemplary responsibility, especially by leaders, has not created a widespread impact...
“To continue to implement the goals set out in the Resolution of the Nui Thanh District Party Committee, aiming to build a comprehensively strong political system from the district to the grassroots, the entire district Party Committee must uphold the spirit of solidarity, greater determination, make great efforts, continue to promote the building and rectification of the Party and a comprehensively clean and strong political system; create a new step of development for the Party in terms of intelligence, political mettle, true morality, civilization, increasingly closely attached to the people, increasingly trusted by the people...” - Mr. An said.
