On the afternoon of June 28, in Dong Ha City (Quang Tri), hundreds of athletes gathered in front of the Quang Tri Province Cultural and Cinema Center to receive their medals. Also here, many people were surprised by the appearance of Ton Hoang Khanh Lan, a female bodybuilder who won the 2018 World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship.
Ton Hoang Khanh Lan was present in Quang Tri province to attend the Cycling Festival for Peace.
The female athlete said that up to now, she has been a national bodybuilder with 24 years of professional experience. The achievements that Ms. Khanh Lan has achieved are very impressive: champion of the world bodybuilding and fitness championship in 2018, gold medal in all-around at the national bodybuilding championship 2021, bronze medal at the Asian bodybuilding championship 2022 and many consecutive years of national bodybuilding championship.
"I came to cycling by chance and felt that cycling brings health and gives me more confidence and strength. Besides, if combined with bodybuilding, it would be very good," Ms. Khanh Lan shared.
Female athlete won gold medal at 2018 world championship
Besides her passion for bodybuilding and achieving certain glories, in recent years, Ms. Khanh Lan has also tried her hand at cycling. With a muscular body and good health, she quickly adapted and participated in many domestic cycling competitions.
"I accidentally got into cycling, only 3 years ago but I have participated in nearly 40 competitions. Every time I get on the saddle, I reach the finish line safely and stand on the podium to receive the award," said Ms. Khanh Lan.
Although she has only been involved in cycling for 3 years, Ms. Khanh Lan has participated in nearly 40 domestic cycling competitions.
With the Cycling Festival for Peace, Ms. Khanh Lan also expressed her impression from the organization to the very meaningful cycling journey. When she learned that Quang Tri province was about to organize a cycling festival with a route passing through historical relics that have become symbols, she quickly registered to participate with the Green Road 9 Cycling Club.
This is also the second time the female bodybuilder has come to Quang Tri. She hopes this is an opportunity to meet and make friends with many athletes who share the same passion.
