Graduating half a year early with a cumulative average score of 9.04/10, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan became the excellent early graduate with the highest score this time at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

With her family's guidance and her own strengths, Ngan studied industrial management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. Thanks to her efforts, after more than 3 years of studying, Ngan received excellent results. The Gen Z girl shared: "I knew the cumulative average score was over 9.0 before, but I didn't think it was the highest score in this early graduation period. That made me very surprised and extremely happy."

At first, Ngan, like many other new students, was very confused by the program and the way of studying, which was completely different from her high school years. Therefore, in the first semester, Ngan's average score was only 8.34/10. Starting with a not-so-high score, in the following semesters, Ngan changed her method and rearranged her study time. "After the first semester, I gradually adapted to self-studying more, from there I arranged my time and registered a reasonable study schedule for myself. After seeing that I had adapted to everything, I was determined to study hard to graduate early," Ngan said. Studying hard to graduate early with excellent scores is not easy, requiring a specific plan and a scientific study method. However, Ngan still humbly said that she did not have any special study method. "In class, I also focused on listening to the lecture, and for the parts that I couldn't keep up with, I used my phone to record and listen to them again at home. If I don't understand something, I will not hesitate to ask the lecturer again. I also often study in groups with my classmates," Ngan shared. In order to graduate early, in addition to increasing the registration for additional credits, each student must also prepare other output certificates. Ngan said that she researched and prepared early when she first entered the school, so she submitted the certificates at the end of her second year. However, pressure in studying is still an unavoidable problem, and so is Ngan. She shared: "Whenever I study specialized subjects or have to study many credits, I also get stressed. Because my major requires a lot of group work, members have to arrange their time to complete assignments together. Thanks to that, I know how to manage and arrange my time better."

With such achievements, it seems that Ngan's student life was all about books and textbooks, but that is not the case. She said that like many other students, she sometimes skipped classes, sometimes went on trips with friends and spent time on her own hobbies. Besides, Ngan also enthusiastically participated in union activities and volunteer programs.

Just graduated and got a job with a salary beyond expectations

With excellent grades, Ngan receives a scholarship from the school every semester. This has helped ease the burden on her family as she can cover her living expenses, and her parents will cover some of her tuition fees. Thanks to her own initiative, Ngan started researching internship companies from the beginning of her third year. Then, in July 2023, she applied for an internship at Intel Corporation. Thanks to her professional capacity and good soft skills, after the internship, in early February this year, Ngan was retained by the corporation as an official employee with an income that far exceeded her expectations.

Ngan shared: “At first, I thought that working there was beyond my ability, so I didn't dare to think about it. But luckily, I passed the interview, got an internship at Intel, and now I'm an official employee. I'm very satisfied with my current job and salary.” To achieve that result, during her internship, Ngan was always proactive, trying to do more work and do her best, not afraid of work or waiting for assignments to be done. “Normally, when doing an internship, you will work 3/5 days, but I try to arrange my schedule to finish all my studies so I have more time. Thanks to that, I work 5 days a week, so I have more time to learn and do practical work at the company,” Ngan said. The Gen Z girl shared that in addition to professional knowledge, students should actively cultivate soft skills by participating in extracurricular activities and building relationships with teachers and friends. “Whether I go to school or work, I am always proactive and constantly learning,” Ngan said.

Teaching Ngan in the subject of industrial maintenance management, Master Nguyen Phuong Quang, lecturer of the Faculty of Electricity - Electronics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, shared: “Ngan is an excellent student, she attends class regularly and follows the lectures attentively. In addition to her diligent learning attitude, Ngan also has the ability to deal with problems very sensitively. Ngan's ability is clearly demonstrated through the scores she achieved in my subject. Besides, I also often learn about the needs of students to orient my lectures in the most appropriate way, so I often make friends and discuss the problems that students are still stuck with when going to work. Therefore, I know that Ngan has a good job, proving that her ability is also recognized by businesses. In general, I am very proud of this student! Graduating early with an excellent degree is rare, and being hired by a prestigious business right after graduation is even rarer.”
