International exchange brings many development opportunities. Hai Dang has shown her love for international exchange activities since her early years in university. Therefore, she has constantly strived to seek opportunities to participate in these multinational activities. She hopes that through this, she will be able to meet many talented people, gain more knowledge and experience new journeys. To date, Hai Dang has participated in more than 15 fully sponsored international scholarship and conference programs. Notably, she has the opportunity to become a representative of Vietnamese youth to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo (Indonesia) in 2023.

The happy female student shared: "It is an honor for me to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit and meet the ASEAN Secretary General and Southeast Asian heads of state." "Within the framework of the Conference, youth delegates were given a separate meeting with Southeast Asian heads of state to present policy recommendations and receive direct comments and feedback. The ASEAN Secretary General also emphasized that in the coming years, he will promote the design of many playgrounds for youth in the region so that young people can speak up, be heard, and develop," Hai Dang added.

In addition, the Gen Z female student recently surpassed nearly 11,000 candidates worldwide to become one of 100 official delegates to attend the 2024 Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) at Peking University, China. Here, Hai Dang had the opportunity to meet, interact and work with many prestigious experts and scholars in the world, along with young leaders from diverse fields and specialties to discuss the topic "Equilibrium: Our World in Balance". She also experienced Chinese culture through cultural exchange sessions such as calligraphy, drama, boat racing, traditional dance, martial arts, ... as well as networking sessions with scholars from Peking University.
There are days when he has too much work to do, but Hai Dang still encourages himself to work hard, practice writing essays, and practice speaking English to improve his skills. (Photo: NVCC).
With the opportunities available, Hai Dang always takes advantage of them to raise the voice of young Vietnamese people, promoting the image of the country to international friends. In meetings, she always proactively expresses her opinions, actively discusses and proposes solutions. Or at cultural exchange sessions, Dang also prepares traditional ao dai, conical hats, and performs national songs, as a way to bring national identity closer to friends around the world. Efforts to conquer scholarships to explore the world Although Hai Dang has great achievements, his starting point is that he is an ordinary student, somewhat self-conscious. Therefore, in order to have satisfactory scholarship applications, Hai Dang has constantly tried and improved himself. Dang's preparation process often revolves around three main issues, including: Building a multidisciplinary knowledge base; Cultivating necessary skills such as leadership, problem solving, writing, etc.; Improving foreign languages. Being diligent, enthusiastic in studying and actively participating in the Youth Union activities have created a foundation for the young girl to accumulate solid leadership skills. In addition, Dang also proactively accumulates more knowledge from competitions and updates information in prestigious scientific articles. Regarding the method of learning foreign languages, the female student confided: "I have no other method than to practice regularly. Because if the learner does not improve, they will quickly forget the knowledge, causing a waste of effort. Therefore, I also take the opportunity to participate in English speaking competitions and proactively learn Chinese at home."
Hai Dang also tried his hand at different roles such as advisor, judge, and speaker at youth and community activities. (Photo: NVCC).
Furthermore, in Hai Dang's opinion, the key point when applying for full scholarships is to understand yourself and the program. A successful application will show the close connection between yourself - the program - the community. "The first few times I applied, I often had the mentality of trying to show myself as a very suitable candidate, very "perfect" with flashy achievements, high GPA, ... without really understanding deeply what my true personal identity was, what kind of candidate the program was really looking for," Hai Dang said. Looking back on the journey, the female student confided: "At first, I just wanted to participate to satisfy my curiosity and desire to learn. However, the more I am involved in this journey, the more I realize that my way of thinking and concern for the community have also transformed. I really want to be able to contribute something, even if it is small, to my community. Especially to accompany students on their journey of self-discovery. And once again, I affirm that international exchange to serve the community is the spirit that runs through my application." With the mindset of someone who has experience in applying for scholarships to participate in international forums and conferences, Hai Dang hopes that young people will not hesitate, letting the opportunity slip right before their eyes. If you feel afraid, be afraid and do it. Because when you dare to try, each person has allowed themselves a 50% chance to achieve what they want.- 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia
