On December 18, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Nhan, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Thua District (Long An), said that the Department of Education and Training and the Thu Thua District Police are urgently investigating and working to handle the group of people involved in beating and stripping off the shirt of an 8th grade female student in the middle of the park, causing her to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
The girl named N. pressed H.'s head to the ground and beat her.
According to the clip recording the scene of the female student being beaten and stripped of her shirt, at around 11:00 a.m. on December 5, at the park area in the Cau Ba Duong Residential Area project (Thu Thua Town, Thu Thua District, Long An), LGH (13 years old, 8th grade student at Nhi Thanh Secondary School, Nhi Thanh Commune, Thu Thua District) was pressed to the ground by many people, beaten many times with hands and helmets. H. begged for mercy and did not dare to fight back.
According to H., at around 11:40 a.m. on December 5, while she was waiting for her grandmother to pick her up, a female student named TT (who studied at the same school) invited her to go to Cau Ba Duong Park to play. T. took H. on her electric bike.
A man in the group hit H. with a helmet, causing her to fall backwards to the ground.
Upon arriving, H. met a girl named N. (19 years old, living in Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) and many other people waiting. As soon as she saw H., N. said: "Whose face are you saying is covered with tons of cream and powder?" and then rushed in to beat her up. H. tried to explain and beg for forgiveness, but N. still held her down and hit her many times on the head and back. When N. stopped beating her, a man holding a helmet hit her repeatedly on the head, face, and back, causing H. to fall to the ground. At this time, two other female students rushed in to beat and strip H. of her shirt.
After being beaten, H. was confused and could not remember who beat him and begged a woman (who participated in beating N.) to take him home.
Many people beat and stripped H.'s shirt in the middle of the park.
Ms. PTH (65 years old, living in Nhi Thanh commune), H.'s grandmother, said that at around 1 pm on December 5, H. was taken home by a friend and then went to sleep until 10 pm without eating or talking to anyone. When she went to wake H. up, she discovered many bruises on H.'s back, face, and head. He was lethargic, vomiting, and not aware of his family, so his family took him to Long An Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. After a week of treatment, H. still felt nauseous and dizzy, so he was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC).
According to the medical record of Long An Provincial General Hospital, patient LGH suffered head and neck injuries and multiple body injuries due to being beaten.
Working with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter on December 17, H. burst into tears continuously.
Currently, Thu Thua District Police have invited those over 18 years old who participated in beating H. to come to work; at the same time, they directed Nhi Thanh Commune Police, Thu Thua Town Police to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training, the Board of Directors of Nhi Thanh Secondary School to contact and work with the students who participated in beating and recording the clip. The Department of Education and Training, the School Board of Directors and the homeroom teacher visited H.'s house to visit and encourage him so that he could quickly return to school.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Nha, after the final conclusion on the case of a female student being beaten and stripped in the middle of the park, the Department of Education and Training and the District Police will report to the People's Committee of Thu Thua District; at the same time, propose a way to handle the case according to legal regulations.
