Since being a freshman in the Cultural Studies - Bachelor of Culture and Tourism (Faculty of Social Management) of Hanoi University of Home Affairs (now the National Academy of Public Administration), female student Nguyen Thi Tinh (born 2001, Xuan My commune, Nghi Xuan) has determined a clear learning goal. As the valedictorian of the school in 2019, she has set a goal of promoting the existing results, continuing to ensure that her scores are always at the good level or higher.
Besides, Nguyen Thi Tinh always tries to develop herself by participating in youth movements, clubs and volunteer activities.

With her constant efforts, during her university years, Nguyen Thi Tinh has achieved achievements such as: valedictorian of the entrance exam to the University of Home Affairs in 2019; excellent student in the 2019-2020, 2021-2022 school years; third prize in scientific research at the school level with the topic "Developing community tourism in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province" in 2021-2022; valedictorian of Cultural Studies in 2023; certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the title of excellent valedictorian of universities and academies in Hanoi in 2023... Nguyen Thi Tinh was also considered for Party membership while still in school.
"During the process of studying and practicing, I have gained more experience in making plans, setting goals, and dividing time. Before each semester, I always make a study plan for each week of study and prepare the necessary documents.
To achieve the best exam results, I will list all the questions for each subject, divide them into key questions, supplementary questions, and set a target number of questions to study for each day. Thanks to that, I can avoid being overloaded and have free time to rest and relax," the valedictorian shared.
Nguyen Thi Tinh also said that to achieve good results, it is necessary to combine many different learning methods. Depending on the subjects, choose the appropriate method. Even during the learning process and the final exam review process, even though it is the same subject, different methods are still needed for each stage.
Not only studying hard, Nguyen Thi Tinh is also an active student participating in union, team, and student association activities.
"I have researched and used many different methods, however, the method I find easy to apply to most subjects is "breaking down the goal". For example, for the subject of Folklore, I set a goal of getting an A+, equivalent to a score of 9 or higher on a scale of 10. To achieve an average score of 9, I need to determine how many points of attendance and regular test scores I need to achieve. Continue to divide the goal into weeks such as how many days it will take to finish reading the textbook, reading more reference materials.
How many problems will each lesson have to solve? When achieving many small goals, it will integrate to make the big goals easier, avoiding making yourself feel pressured if you set goals that are too big. And dividing goals into small ones can be applied to all subjects, the whole university process and many other aspects of life" - Nguyen Thi Tinh said.
Sharing her learning experiences and life skills, Nguyen Thi Tinh always wants to convey to young people the message of “experience”. The female student believes that the Youth Union is a positive and progressive environment for everyone to learn, practice and develop their abilities.

During your time as a student, try some part-time jobs to gain more experience, practice patience, communication skills and the spirit of overcoming difficulties. If you allow yourself to experience without restricting yourself to a single task, you are developing yourself comprehensively.
Female student Nguyen Thi Tinh confided: "In the learning process in particular and the growing up process in general, family has always been the biggest motivation for me. My parents have created the best conditions for me to study and experience, so I have to constantly strive to best complete the set goals.
My short-term goal is to complete my graduate program, learn new skills, continue to improve myself, and contribute to society."
