On June 11, authorities in Chau Doc City, An Giang Province are still actively verifying the reported information and searching for a 7th grade female student who has been "missing" for nearly 4 days and has not returned home.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tran Van Thanh (living in Chau Phu B ward, Chau Doc city) said that his daughter named TNN (13 years old, 7th grade student at Thu Khoa Huan Secondary School) left home at around 2:00 p.m. on June 8 and has not returned yet, with no information.
According to Mr. Thanh, he and his wife have 2 children, N. is the eldest daughter. Because he has to work to make a living, he drives a pedicab in Nui Sam ward, his wife works as a janitor so she doesn't have time to take care of the children. Mr. Thanh and his wife sent N. to live with her maternal grandparents and aunt in Vinh My ward since she was a child.
"My daughter usually goes out with her friends after school. But she gets home at 7pm at the latest. She hasn't used her phone for months. She went somewhere after a week of summer vacation and has been missing, and there's no information yet," said Mr. Thanh.
After the female student N. left home, Mr. Thanh's family thought she had gone out somewhere and organized a search. However, the search lasted for many days but yielded no results.
On June 10, Mr. Thanh's family reported to Vinh My and Chau Phu B Ward Police. At the same time, they provided photos and information to the police and the Facebook community to help in the search.
Previously, An Giang authorities also received a report that female student NTBA (class 9A7, Nguyen Trai Middle School, Chau Doc City) "went missing" after taking the 10th grade exam at Thu Khoa Nghia High School on June 4.
The family also posted information and pictures of their daughter on social media, asking the community to help find her. "Before taking the 10th grade exam, my daughter was in a normal state of mind, showing no unusual signs. Since she went missing, my family has been devastated. My family will not pursue the case, as long as she comes home. If someone accidentally took her away, let her come back," said A.'s father.
