Lecturer Tran Ngoc Mai, born in 1991, from Vu Ban commune, Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province, has just become the youngest associate professor in Vietnam this year. She is currently working at the Faculty of International Business of the Banking Academy. In 2012, she graduated with a major in International Business, Banking and Financial Markets from the University of Nebraska (USA), following a bachelor's program in English. Three years later, she received a master's degree in Banking and Finance from the University of London (UK). Since 2013, she has been a lecturer at the Banking Academy, teaching International Payments, Faculty of Banking; International Investment, Faculty of International Business. In May 2021, the lecturer was awarded a PhD in International Economics at the Foreign Trade University. She is currently the deputy head of the International Investment Department, Faculty of International Business, Banking Academy.

After more than 10 years working at the Banking Academy, the female lecturer assessed herself as “fulfilling the duties of a teacher well”. She has been teaching undergraduate, master’s, standard, high-quality, and international joint students. The female lecturer always updates new knowledge and innovates teaching methods, receiving many positive feedbacks from students. In addition, the youngest associate professor in Vietnam in 2024 said that she also constantly improves her knowledge by participating in and self-studying many training programs, updating new trends and practical skills in the field of international business and sustainable development.

Regarding the research process, lecturer Tran Ngoc Mai has published 31 scientific articles, including 6 articles as the main author, published in prestigious international journals after being recognized as a doctor. The youngest female associate professor in 2024 has participated in writing 2 specialized reference books. In addition, she also actively supports and guides young lecturers and students in scientific research activities at the Banking Academy. The two main research directions of Associate Professor Tran Ngoc Mai include: Macro research on international investment, international trade and sustainable economic development and Micro research on behavioral management and sustainable business practices. In addition to Associate Professor Tran Ngoc Mai, there are 3 other candidates to become young associate professors of the 9X generation: Associate Professor Nguyen Hoang Chung (1990, Binh Dinh), working at Thu Dau Mot University; Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Hoa Hong (1990, Ha Nam), working at Foreign Trade University; Associate Professor Vu Thu Trang (1990, Hai Phong), working at Hanoi National University of Education.
