The Mathematics Department has just added 4 professors and 18 associate professors. Lecturer Tran Minh Phuong, born in 1986, from Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh province, is the youngest female associate professor in the department this year.
Ms. Phuong is currently a Grade III lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics, Ton Duc Thang University.
Previously, in 2008, Ms. Phuong graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education with a degree in Mathematics, specializing in Mathematics Education. Just 2 years later, she was awarded a master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Orléans (France). Just 2 years after graduating with a master's degree, Ms. Phuong continued to receive a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from the same university.
After that, Ms. Phuong spent 1 year studying for her post-doctorate at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Paris Pedagogical School (France). In January 2014, Ms. Tran Minh Phuong returned to work at Ton Duc Thang University as a lecturer and became a Grade III lecturer since April this year.
The new associate professor mainly researches on formal theory for some classes of partial differential equations; numerical solution of partial differential equations and simulation in some applied problems; application of partial differential equations in digital image processing and restoration in medicine.
The female lecturer has published 43 scientific articles, including 32 in prestigious scientific journals, completed 2 research topics and published 1 book. She was awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training for 3 years for her mathematical work in the National Key Program for Mathematics Development in the period 2010-2020. In 2023, this lecturer was also awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training for her outstanding mathematical work in this program in the period 2021-2030.
Ms. Phuong said that she constantly studies and practices to improve her professional capacity to meet the requirements and assigned tasks. In addition to completing her university and graduate teaching, she actively participates in scientific research activities and guides students in their projects. She also participates in chairing scientific and technological tasks, building training programs, etc.
Besides the new Associate Professor Tran Minh Phuong, this year, the Mathematics department also has female Associate Professors Huynh Thi Hong Diem, Nguyen Thi Hoai and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Oanh.
Ms. Diem was born in 1984, from Hon Dat town, Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province. She graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from Can Tho University, and a doctorate from the University of Natural Sciences - Ho Chi Minh City National University. Currently, she is a lecturer at the University of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Ms. Hoai was born in 1982 and is a lecturer at the University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi . Ms. Hoai's hometown is Cao Minh Commune, Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province. She graduated with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Voronezh National Pedagogical University (Russia), and a doctorate from Voronezh State University (Russia).
Associate Professor Ngoc Oanh, born in 1985, is currently the Deputy Head of Training Department, University of Science - Thai Nguyen University. Ms. Oanh is from Luong Bang Commune, Kim Dong District, Hung Yen Province. Ms. Oanh studied at the University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She studied for a master's degree at Thai Nguyen University and a doctorate at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
