Impressive role as Chairman of "Children's Parliament" and impressive achievements

In September 2023, Dang Cat Tien (class 9/3, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang) passed a rigorous selection process to take on the role of Chairman in the mock session of the "Children's National Assembly", discussing the prevention of injuries, violence against children and protecting children in healthy interactions and creating a creative online environment.

Taking on the role of Chairman in a mock session is not an easy task, especially for a 9th grader like Dang Cat Tien.

However, with her confidence and knowledge, along with the support of the advisory board and the organizing committee, Cat Tien did very well and left a big mark in the Children's National Assembly session with the participation of 263 child delegates from 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam.

With her outstanding achievements, most recently, Cat Tien has excelled over many strong candidates to become one of the 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces of 2023.

She is also the youngest person to win this prestigious title this year. This can be considered a great milestone that helps Tien try harder to learn and strive further on the future path ahead.

Sharing about her achievements, Cat Tien said: "I feel very happy, joyful and lucky to achieve the results I have today.

These results are not only thanks to my own efforts and hard work, but also thanks to the great contribution, care and trust of the locality, school, family and friends.

I really appreciate the love that my aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and friends have given me. This is also the motivation for me to try harder in the future. I would like to thank the leaders, teachers, and family for creating conditions, loving, and supporting me in the past time."

The key to balancing studies and extracurricular activities

It is known that since she was young, Cat Tien was allowed by her family to participate in team activities, to practice skills to improve herself, and not be afraid to stand in front of a crowd. Tien also attended talent classes such as: violin, swimming,...

Although she participates enthusiastically and energetically in extracurricular activities, Cat Tien always tries to balance and not let her studies be affected. This female student born in 2009 has always been an excellent student at school and has achieved almost perfect scores since grade 6, winning first prize in the National Young Historian Contest in 2023; first prize in the Excellent English Student Contest in 2023 organized by Khanh Hoa province; second prize in the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2021; first prize in the Online English Contest, etc.

"I always set myself 3 important keys. First, make a specific plan for each stage. I believe that determining goals and making a specific plan is the key to getting your studies and movement activities in the right direction.

Second, prioritize work: I always try to arrange time and prioritize work, along with harmony between studying and movement activities.

Third, maintaining health is a top priority: I always try my best even though I am busy with work, but I never forget to maintain my health, and when needed, I always share and receive support from family and friends," Tien confided.

I also exercise regularly to stay healthy and mentally refreshed to start a new day full of energy," Tien said.

During this time, Tien set a goal of achieving high results in English competitions, and hoped to pass the 10th grade English major of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, a prestigious school with quality education in Khanh Hoa.
