(Dan Tri) - Female militiawoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien is proud to be the third generation in her family to be trained to participate in the 50th anniversary celebration of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

These days, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien (born 2000, residing in Dien Xuan commune, Dien Chau, Nghe An) and the Nghe An province female militia platoon practice and train with many forces to prepare for the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Before that, Ms. Hien and her teammates had a training session lasting more than 1 month in Vinh city.

Due to intense training in harsh weather conditions, cold and rain, her skin became much darker. However, her face always exuded strength and determination when she walked in the army.

The female militiawoman from Dien Xuan commune has surpassed thousands of candidates to be honored as one of 28 members of the Nghe An female militia platoon to practice and prepare for one of the important activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

This female militiawoman also carries pride in being the third generation in her family to participate in the parade on major national holidays.

According to Ms. Hien, Mr. Hoang Quoc Hue's maternal grandfather (a military officer) participated in the parade on International Labor Day, May 1, held in 1973 at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi).

In 1985, Ms. Hien's aunt, Ms. Hoang Thi Sam, had the honor of being in the parade at Ba Dinh Square. This was a large-scale parade to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

In 2015, another aunt of hers, Ms. Hoang Van Anh, participated in the parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of National Day, which took place at Ba Dinh Square.

"When I was selected to be in the Nghe An Province Militia Platoon, my aunts encouraged me and shared a lot of experiences. Aunt Sam said that during the 1985 parade, a comrade in her squad stepped on a nail and was injured, but still tried to complete his mission. Aunt Van Anh shared her feelings when she walked across the stage, under the military flag, while being watched and cheered by a large crowd of people.

It is the encouragement and experience of the nuns that has given me the motivation to practice and the determination to be included in the parade in Ho Chi Minh City this April," Ms. Hien shared.

Since the beginning of January, Ms. Hien and her teammates from all districts, cities and towns in the province have gathered at Regiment 764 (Nghe An Province Military Command, stationed in Vinh city) to begin training.

Getting used to the disciplined lifestyle, regular working style of the Army and the movements for her and her teammates was not easy. In addition to each person's determination, the female militiamen received encouragement and care from the officers in charge, unit commanders, and leaders of the Provincial Military Command.

The girls must go through exercises such as leg crossing, walking evenly, and arm swinging... from basic to advanced, ensuring uniformity, accuracy, and proficiency.

In mid-February, along with many other units, the Nghe An Women's Militia Platoon arrived at the National Military Training Center 4 (Mieu Mon, Hanoi). 28 Nghe An girls in the Northern Women's Militia continued to practice and train together, ready for the upcoming important event.

"During the training and practice process, we had to go through tests to be officially present at the parade taking place on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City. This is not only an honor and pride for ourselves and our families, but also a responsibility for this very special mission. Therefore, we always encourage each other to try with the highest determination," Ms. Hien shared.
