In February 2024, the province's socio-economic situation continued to remain stable. All levels and sectors proactively implemented tasks before, during and after the 2024 Lunar New Year with a spirit of urgency and determination to complete the set goals; many businesses quickly stabilized production and business activities right after the Tet holiday. Agricultural production remained stable; trade and service activities took place vigorously, goods prices were stabilized, meeting people's shopping needs; service sectors continued to be vibrant and grew strongly. In agricultural production, thanks to favorable weather and irrigation water sources, the total winter-spring crop area reached 31,128 hectares; livestock farming continued to be maintained and developed stably; diseases on crops and livestock were controlled. Seafood output was estimated at 14,204 tons, up 7.1% over the same period. The industrial production index increased by 6.13%. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the month were estimated at VND3,302.8 billion, up 15.1% over the same period. Tourism activities were vibrant and grew well, especially during the Lunar New Year. Social security policies and Tet care for people were given attention and implemented fully, promptly, and to the right subjects; activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate spring and welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 achieved the goal of "Everyone, every family can enjoy spring and celebrate Tet"; people's health care was focused on; food hygiene and safety were ensured. Security, politics , order, and social safety were maintained; traffic safety was strengthened.

However, the difficulties that emerged were that some industrial products of mining, construction, and manufacturing decreased sharply due to reduced consumption demand and the Lunar New Year falling in February 2024, so the production time in the month decreased compared to the same period last year; shrimp seeds continued to decrease due to low prices of commercial shrimp and consumption demand; seafood exports continued to decrease sharply; business activities were still difficult; budget revenue was low compared to the same period.
Concluding the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts of departments, branches and localities in implementing socio-economic development tasks in the past time, especially important activities to ensure people enjoy spring and celebrate Tet. In the coming time, it is forecasted that the situation will face many difficulties and challenges. All levels and branches need to closely follow the guiding theme, accelerate and be determined in each month and each quarter to complete the tasks and targets for the whole year of 2024. Review resolutions of all levels to closely follow the goals, tasks and roadmap for implementing breakthroughs, especially the key tasks set out. In particular, focus on rectifying discipline and administrative reform; have a plan to assign specific tasks, inspect and supervise work, promptly handle difficulties and problems; pay attention to digital transformation, each agency and unit has 1 digital transformation product. Overcome existing problems and handle them strictly according to the inspection and audit conclusions. Launch emulation movements, promptly commend individuals and units that perform their tasks well.
In the agricultural sector, it is necessary to proactively regulate enough water for production and promote the movement of building new rural areas. In industry, promote investment in industrial parks and clusters; closely follow the plan to implement the VIII power plan, to proactively implement renewable energy projects; remove difficulties, promptly implement urban areas and housing projects; effectively carry out site clearance, complete land use planning; determine to collect budget, disburse public investment capital from the beginning of the year, especially disburse foreign capital to implement sustainable environmental projects. Strengthen dialogue to remove difficulties for investors; review and promptly complete planning to promote investment resources. For social sectors and fields, it is necessary to closely follow the tasks, promote activities to attract tourists, solve labor and employment problems, ensure human resources for development and attract investment in the province.
