What did designer Thach Linh say when bringing lychee, shrimp paste, and green bean cake to the fashion catwalk?

At 7:00 p.m. on November 26, 2023, at Sao Do Square - Chi Linh City, Hai Duong, the Homeland Sketching program will take place. This program is part of the artistic fashion project to promote 63 provinces and cities and bring Vietnamese culture to the world, initiated by designer Thach Linh.

Sketching the Homeland is the program that designer Thach Linh has devoted the most passion and emotion to out of all the programs she has made because Hai Duong is where she was born and raised. That is where she had her childhood, her mother, her sister, her loved ones who protected her since she was little, nurtured her soul and laid the foundation for her to reach far and fly high.

With the desire to introduce the beauty of culture, tourism and unique characteristics of Hai Duong in particular and Vietnam in general to the public through the language of fashion, Thach Linh and 3 designers Dung Nguyen, Hung Bao, Nguyen Minh Cong have researched and created new, unique collections, introduced to the public for the first time. In particular, the highlight is the collection with the theme of the program designed by Thach Linh - Sketching the homeland.

Each design in the Homeland Sketches collection is inspired by landmarks and specialties that bear the cultural imprint of Chi Linh and Hai Duong. Typical images of Hai Duong culture such as green bean cake, gai cake, lychee, guava, and crab cake are present on the costumes in a subtle and lively way. In particular, the main color of fresh green will refresh the traditional costumes associated with this land rich in tradition.

Along with the Homeland Sketches collection, Thach Linh also brought the Hoa Bac Bo collection to the show. Meanwhile, designer Dung Nguyen introduced the Hung Dong collection, designer Hung Bao brought the Lien Thien collection and designer Nguyen Minh Cong will appear with the Mong Dao Nguyen collection.

These passionate designs will be presented on a unique stage inspired by the main gate of Kiep Bac Temple. In the role of program producer, designer Thach Linh shared: "Chi Linh - Hai Duong is a famous land of talented people, the homeland of many famous people and historical figures such as Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Thi Due... and the place of worship of famous people Tran Hung Dao, Chu Van An... When mentioning Chi Linh, people will immediately think of the architectural works left by their ancestors, the temples and pagodas that witnessed many heroic historical periods of Vietnam.

Bringing Hai Duong specialties to the fashion catwalk to express love for the homeland

When I started to make Sketches of the Homeland, I thought a lot and struggled a lot about how to convey the unique cultural features to the public. After surveying and researching carefully, I decided to take the Kiep Bac temple gate as the main source of inspiration. This is the place to worship Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, an important relic of the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site". Besides, when talking about the Con Son - Kiep Bac area, we cannot help but mention the familiar root field in the land rich in historical traditions, recalling the ancient story of "the man planted pine trees, the woman planted roots". And the root tree will be present at the show Sketches of the Homeland with props arranged along both sides of the stage, giving the audience the feeling of walking among the root fields with a gentle, pungent fragrance...

Homeland Sketch brings together a group of famous models and artists from Vietnamese showbiz such as: Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Miss Tran Tieu Vy, Miss Luong Thuy Linh, Miss Nong Thuy Hang, Miss Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong, Miss Nguyen Ha Dieu Thao, Runner-up Bui Khanh Linh, Supermodel Vo Hoang Yen, Runner-up of The Face Vietnam 2023 Bui Xuan Hanh...

Also participating in the program are singers: Hoa Minzy, Double2T, Tang Duy Tan, Nhat Huyen, Tien Hung... In addition, the program also features the appearance of famous Tiktokers such as Pham Thoai, Linh Barbie, Vuong Khanh... Taking on the role of program hosts are MC Cong To and Thanh Thanh Huyen; red carpet MCs are Le Bong and Hoang Thanh.
