Lotus flowers combined with the surreal beauty of Ha Long Bay have created extremely vibrant ao dai designs.
Towards the 60th anniversary of the founding of Quang Ninh province, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam recently revealed the first designs in the “Non Nuoc” Ao Dai collection. Originating from the idea of honoring and promoting the beauty of the country’s heritage sites, the designer has put the image of the lotus flower on the Ao Dai – the flower known as the national flower of Vietnam.
Lotus flowers combined with the surreal beauty of Ha Long Bay, one of the seven new natural wonders of the world, have created extremely vivid, beautiful and soulful ao dai designs.
The lotus flower has a simple, rustic beauty but is extremely noble and exemplary, a symbol of the strong vitality, rising up in all circumstances "close to the mud but not tainted by the smell of mud" of the Vietnamese people. When appearing on the ao dai, the delicately embroidered lotus flowers create a special attraction for women.
Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam said the highlight of the collection is the sophisticated, elaborate hand embroidery and hand-sewing techniques from the talented hands of hundreds of artisans from traditional embroidery villages in Thuong Tin, My Duc, and Chuong My ( Hanoi ).
With the Viva Magenta color scheme - Pantone Color 2023, the "Non Nuoc" collection is a radiant lotus flower symbolizing the warm and free colors of the tropics, a source of pride for designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam to introduce to domestic and international friends.
The collection brings together stylized designs, impressive in style, bringing a "Mountain and Water" with a traditional yet trendy and luxurious appearance.
In this collection, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam uses velvet and SVF silk printed and embroidered with his own creative technology, always sharp and harmonious, helping to create the most delicate, soaring and vivid Vietnamese ao dai. This material is created from intelligence, the crystallization of aesthetic, cultural and high-tech elements of the brand.
In order to honor and promote the beauty of the country, people and heritage of Vietnamese ao dai, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam brought the collection "Non nuoc" to the US and took photos on Hollywood Boulevard in San Diego, California.
Previously, Do Trinh Hoai Nam also brought the "Fountain of Freedom" collection to the land of the stars and stripes in a series of journeys to promote Vietnamese ao dai to five continents.
Images of international supermodels in traditional Vietnamese costumes bring modernity, innovation and a bit of "uniqueness" to the "Non Nuoc" collection.
All designs incorporate the beauty of lotus flowers and Ha Long Bay, creating an extremely eye-catching and fashionable overall look. The square-cut Ao Dai is one of the modern Ao Dai shapes created and developed by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam. This shape maximizes the advantages and curves of a woman's body while still concealing flaws, bringing a pleasant and comfortable feeling to the wearer.
Over the years, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam’s Ao Dai designs have always been the top choice of businessmen, politicians, and celebrities both domestically and internationally. Through the “Non Nuoc” collection, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam wants to convey the message that Ao Dai is an outfit that brings beauty, confidence, and charm to women all over the world. Regardless of body shape or figure, Ao Dai still honors the beautiful values of women.
It is known that the collection "Non Nuoc" by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam will be performed at the grand ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Quang Ninh province on October 30, 2023.
