At the press conference to launch the MV "Phoenix Wings" by singer Tung Duong, People's Artist Xuan Bac expressed his emotions after fully enjoying the work.
The artist commented that the entire crew was very smart in choosing the setting as well as the female characters appearing in the MV.
"The image of People's Artist Le Khanh, former wushu athlete Thuy Hien, dancer Linh Nga... and finally the flying phoenix bird moved me. It evokes the best and most wonderful things that women bring to us. When watching the MV, I suddenly remembered my mother. We think that women only take care of cooking, but that's not true, they have undeniable contributions in all fields," People's Artist Xuan Bac shared.
The humorous artist said that with a song honoring women, Tung Duong can sing it on all occasions, not just October 20 or March 8. He said this was an "extremely smart" choice of the male singer.
Meanwhile, director Viet Tu affirmed that Tung Duong, in collaboration with young artist Double2T, has brought the public a very special MV.
"Double2T's appearance when reading the rap made the audience excited. At the end of the MV, the non-stop applause in the theater is proof of the emotional touch point, nothing can fake it. Recently, people often tease Tung Duong as the 'king of festival singing' but after this song, the music market... is all his," director Viet Tu emphasized.
Double2T was very happy to review the complete MV. "This is a special milestone in my life when I was able to collaborate with a great artist and contributor to the music industry like Tung Duong," the rapper expressed.
Phoenix Wings was composed by singer-songwriter Mars Anh Tú (Tu Dua). The song opens with many symbolic lyrics with the image of a beautiful woman, walking leisurely in life, with a hidden spiritual strength to overcome all storms. That image is likened to a phoenix spreading its wings in the vast world, shining brightly in the night.
The spectacular “twist” took place when rapper Double2T appeared with a rap telling a story originating from the legend of Vietnam, from Mother Au Co, women who went through the ups and downs of history, heroic and indomitable female generals, heroic Vietnamese mothers: " For the Fatherland, we bear all the pain... Vietnamese women are the land, the water, the immense fields of motherly love ", to women in today's modern society: " Make yourself beautiful and make life beautiful ".
Musician Mars Anh Tu revealed that he composed this song 3 years ago and immediately thought of Tung Duong's voice. However, because of his artistic ego, he did not bring the song to "invite" Tung Duong to sing.
"Every artist has an ego. I believe that if an artist or singer wants to work together, the first thing they need to do is learn about and like the music and lyrics of their partner. I met Tung Duong 20 years ago, but we didn't connect, not even on Facebook. Recently at an event, the male singer asked me to write a song. I was surprised, but Tung Duong said that his musical thinking is different now, he likes to conquer new things and be closer to the audience. When I showed Tung Duong the song Canh Chim Phuong Hoang , he said it was for him," musician Mars Anh Tu confided.
The musician was satisfied with Tung Duong's performance of the song Phoenix Wings .

Singer Tung Duong invited 5 famous talented women with beautiful images in the hearts of the public: People's Artist Le Khanh, People's Artist Thanh Lam, Meritorious Artist Linh Nga, Miss Ha Kieu Anh and wushu athlete Thuy Hien to appear in the MV. Each person is like a beautiful and proud phoenix with extraordinary efforts to succeed.
"The song honors women with many ups and downs, difficulties, and challenges but still strong enough to overcome them. I always wanted to make a mythical MV, telling about real things happening in life, thereby expressing the desire to fly up, spread wings proudly like a phoenix," the male singer expressed.
Musician Nguyen Huu Vuong - Music Director of the MV said: " The Phoenix Wings is strong enough to highlight the power in Tung Duong's voice, but still not difficult to listen to for the general audience. I used many instruments and strong sounds to create energy in the song such as epic drums, guitar distortion...".
Directors Nguyen Truong Kien (Zodiac II) and Nguyen Huu Hoang said they were inspired by the cultural and historical materials of Vietnam through many periods, then selected the most symbolic images to bring into the world of "Fantasy Vietnam".
“I want to bring a completely new top-notch visual experience, especially for MV genres that use a lot of VFX/CGI techniques when most people still think Vietnam cannot do well,” director Nguyen Truong Kien emphasized.
