Pursuant to Decision No. 133/QDX-BQP dated December 10, 2024 of the Minister of National Defense on the retirement of Colonel, People's Artist Nguyen Quoc Truong, Director of the Army Cheo Theater according to the regime; Pursuant to Decision No. 86/QDD-TCCT dated December 12, 2024 of the Director of the General Department of Politics on the appointment of Colonel, People's Artist Vu Tu Long, Deputy Director to the position of Director of the Army Cheo Theater.
On the afternoon of December 30 in Hanoi, Major General Tran Ngoc Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Politics, Director of the Political Department, presented the decision to appoint Colonel, People's Artist Tu Long as Director of the Army Cheo Theater.
At the inauguration ceremony, People's Artist Tu Long said that he will, together with the Army Cheo Theater, promote the 70-year tradition of "playing Cheo for artists and soldiers" in the work of preserving national culture and art, as well as have many creative innovations to contribute to the development of the country's stage.
People's Artist Tu Long was born in 1973 in Bac Ninh, coming from a family with an artistic tradition with his father being Meritorious Artist Tu Lam and his mother being Meritorious Artist Minh Phuc.
After 1999, Tu Long joined the General Department of Logistics Cheo Troupe. Having been with the unit for more than 23 years, Tu Long also reached the pinnacle of his career when he was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012 and People's Artist in 2015.
