PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) together with Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (TTC AgriS) and scientists from the Central Highlands Soil, Fertilizer and Environment Research Center joined hands to create a fertilizer product for greener, sweeter sugarcane and bring a more prosperous life to farmers.

The project began with the scientists diligently collecting soil samples from vast sugarcane fields in Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak, then bringing them to the laboratory for detailed analysis. Each soil sample has a different pH, organic matter content, nutrients such as N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S and cation exchange capacity (CEC). Scientists analyzed and made recommendations for appropriate fertilization, helping the soil and plants to harmonize and nourish each other optimally.

From in-depth analysis of soil, TTC AgriS's vast sugarcane fields not only receive a product line of Phu My NPK 20-10-10 +TE suitable for sugarcane here, with European-class quality, but also access to smart, precise fertilization solutions, helping to save fertilizer and protect the environment.

Sugarcane fields on initially poor soil were given special care, and after a few sugarcane crops the soil became fertile and the plants grew lush. Yields increased, the quality of the sugarcane was sweeter and farmers were delighted to see the positive changes thanks to the project, which combined scientists and businesses.

Science and Technology – The Key to Sustainable Agriculture

With the tireless efforts of PVFCCo and scientists from the Central Highlands Soil, Fertilizer and Environment Research Center, the Phu My Soil Analysis and Fertilizer Usage Guide Project is not only a step forward in agricultural science, but also a symbol of faith and hope. Hardworking farmers have another reliable companion, Phu My Fertilizer, on the path to sustainable farming.

Stories from farmers are the clearest evidence of the success of the Project. Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, a farmer in Khanh Hoa shared: “Previously, the sugarcane on my land was stunted and had low productivity. Since visiting the factory, I have completely trusted the quality of Phu My NPK fertilizer. My fellow villagers and I confidently use Phu My fertilizer according to the instructions of scientists, the land has become more fertile, the sugarcane has grown strongly, and the productivity has increased significantly.”

The project does not stop at improving sugarcane productivity, but also opens up a new direction for sustainable agriculture. The combination of modern technology and traditional knowledge has created an effective farming method that not only increases productivity and sugar storage, but also minimizes negative impacts on the environment and ensures a stable source of income for farmers.

MSc. Luong Duc Tri (Center for Research on Soil, Fertilizer and Environment of the Central Highlands) said: “Soil nutrient analysis is an extremely important and indispensable step in modern agricultural cultivation. This helps to accurately determine the nutritional needs of crops, thereby making recommendations for appropriate fertilization, helping to optimize plant growth and improve crop yields, maintain soil fertility and help protect the environment. Applying technology to agriculture not only helps save costs, but also enhances the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market. This is an important step for Vietnamese agriculture to develop sustainably, meeting the increasing demands of domestic and foreign consumers”.

Bright future of Vietnamese agriculture

The collaboration between PVFCCo and TTC AgriS with research institutes is not only a success story in improving sugarcane productivity and quality, but also a clear demonstration of the ability of science and technology to promote sustainable agriculture. The project has not only revived barren sugarcane fields, but also opened up new opportunities for farmers across sugarcane growing regions.

This collaboration could open up new opportunities for similar projects, not only in sugarcane, but also in other crops. As science and technology continue to develop, the combination of scientific solutions and the dedication of farmers will become a powerful driving force to improve the quality of Vietnamese agriculture, creating agricultural products that not only meet domestic demand, but can also reach out to the world.

With the belief in sustainable development and the support of companies such as PVFCCo and TTC AgriS and agronomists, Vietnamese agriculture not only achieves success in the present, but also prepares for challenges and opportunities in the future. These efforts will be a solid foundation for sustainable development, contributing to improving the quality of life and bringing prosperity to the country's agriculture.
