ANTD.VN - Novaland Group has just responded to information related to the Dai Ninh urban commercial, tourism and ecological resort project in Lam Dong province (Sai Gon Dai Ninh project).
Previously, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a conclusion on the investigation into violations at the Dai Ninh project, accordingly, proposing to prosecute 10 defendants in the case related to this "super project".
Among them are Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri (General Director of Saigon Dai Ninh Tourism Investment Joint Stock Company), Tran Duc Quan (former Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee), Tran Van Hiep (former Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee) who were proposed to be prosecuted for the crimes of "Giving bribes" and "Receiving bribes".
The Ministry of Public Security's investigation agency also determined that Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri sold the Dai Ninh Project to Thien Vuong Real Estate Investment and Development Company Limited (Novaland Group) for more than VND27,000 billion, but only paid VND2,700 billion. The police investigation agency determined that this amount arose from a series of illegal acts, so it was proposed to confiscate it to the State budget.
Novaland has to continuously speak up to defend itself when its name is mentioned in a number of major cases. |
Regarding this information, Novaland Group said that the Group participated in the transaction as a project development cooperation unit with Thien Vuong Real Estate Investment and Development Company Limited - the investment unit receiving the transfer of shares from Saigon Dai Ninh Lavender Tourism Investment Company Limited in 2022.
This is the time when the partner, Saigon Dai Ninh Lavender Tourism Investment Company Limited, committed to owning 100% of the project investor company and the project has legal documents approving it to continue to be implemented in accordance with the law.
"Novaland Group affirms that regarding the process of resolving previous legal problems of the Saigon Dai Ninh project, Novaland Group was completely unaware of, did not discuss, and was not involved in the wrongdoings of partners and related parties," the company said.
At the same time, Novaland said that since the investigation agency began to clarify Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri's violations, Novaland Group "actively cooperated and provided relevant documents to clarify the issue of honesty when participating in this transaction with Thien Vuong Real Estate Investment and Development Company Limited, contributing to supporting the authorities in investigating and clarifying the nature of the case".
The company also emphasized that it will continue to actively coordinate with the prosecution agencies to clarify the details of the case and will strictly comply with the final decisions of the authorities in the spirit of the rule of law.
Recently, Novaland has had to continuously speak up to clarify its involvement in major cases.
In early October, during the second phase of the Van Thinh Phat trial, Ms. Truong My Lan unexpectedly requested that the company pay 2,500 billion VND to remedy the consequences of the case due to its involvement with Tan Thanh Long An. Novaland later had to deny any involvement with the Viet Phat project and Tan Thanh Long An Company as Ms. Lan said.
In another development, Novaland recently had a change in senior personnel. Accordingly, Mr. Duong Van Bac was appointed to the role of General Director of Novaland from November 1, replacing Mr. Dennis Ng Teck Yow, who has been in this position since mid-March 2023.
According to Novaland, this is part of the plan to strengthen the senior leadership team, contributing significantly to the Group's comprehensive restructuring process, helping Novaland firmly overcome challenges and develop sustainably.
Mr. Bac joined Novaland in August 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, then was appointed Deputy General Director in September 2024.
