Take agriculture as the foundation
Dak Nia commune has a total natural area of over 9,354 hectares, with 2,628 households and over 10,000 people. It is home to 15 ethnic groups, of which ethnic minorities account for over 39%.

Despite many difficulties, the Party Committee, government and people of the commune have gradually affirmed their position, creating a bright spot in the movement to build advanced new rural areas.
Agricultural development has been a key sector of Dak Nia commune’s economy for many years. The commune has closely coordinated with relevant levels and sectors in investing, upgrading and repairing irrigation works, thereby ensuring the supply of irrigation water for an area of up to 7,263 crops annually.

The family of Ms. Tran Thi Hop in Bon N'Jrieng, Dak Nia commune, has 2,000 coffee trees. Thanks to good care, the coffee garden yields an average of 9 - 10 tons of coffee beans each year.
Ms. Tran Thi Hop shared: “This year, due to pests and diseases, the coffee garden yielded 7 tons of beans, lower than the 9-10 tons of previous years. Currently, I sell coffee at a price of over 120 million VND/ton, after deducting expenses, I earn nearly 700 million VND.

Following the direction of Dak Nia commune, Ms. Hop's family mainly grows TR 4 and TR 9 coffee varieties to achieve high productivity and good quality. In addition, she intercrops pepper in the coffee garden to increase income.
Mr. Do Van Sin, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: "Climate change and erratic weather are major challenges to the productivity of crops such as coffee, cashew and pepper. Faced with this situation, the commune has proactively encouraged the application of science and technology, expanded water-saving models and sustainable farming."

The highlight in the work of building advanced new rural areas in Dak Nia is the development of OCOP products and agricultural production chains.
Currently, the commune has 2 products that meet the 3-star OCOP standard: mangosteen from Gia An Farm and durian from Gia Trung Farm. These products contribute to increasing the value of local agricultural products.
By 2024, the average income per capita of Dak Nia commune will reach 60.2 million VND/person. The commune has completed 19/19 advanced new rural criteria, marking the consensus and positive contributions from the people.
Synchronous infrastructure
During the period of building advanced new rural areas 2021 - 2025, Dak Nia has focused on investing in synchronous infrastructure from transportation, irrigation, electricity, clean water to education, healthcare and works serving community activities such as medical stations, schools, village halls, and hamlets.

Bon Phai Kol Rru Dang is one of the areas invested in building spacious roads, convenient for residents. The total budget mobilized for building roads in the village reached over 110 billion VND, of which resources came from: Central budget 5,999 million VND; local budget 6,452 million VND; credit capital 95,000 million VND; enterprise capital 2,146 million VND and capital mobilized from people and the community 598 million VND.

Traffic in Dak Nia commune shows clear changes. National Highway 28 passing through the commune has been expanded. 20.8km of commune roads have been completely asphalted. 17.9km of village and hamlet roads have been hardened and all lanes and hamlets have met 100% of the hardening standards.
Many roads in the commune have been planted with trees and installed with lighting, creating a clean and airy rural landscape. Ms. Vu Thi Dinh, a resident of Dak Nia commune, shared: “In the past, the roads faced many difficulties, but now with a spacious road system, people's lives have improved significantly. My family has invested in opening a grocery store with a variety of goods to meet people's shopping needs.”
Dak Nia is currently one of the 9 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards in Dak Nong. Every person in the commune joins hands with all levels, sectors and localities in the process of building advanced NTM.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, the commune has recorded many outstanding achievements in poverty reduction. Specifically, by 2024, the commune will have only 54 poor households, a decrease of 14 households compared to 2023. The average income per capita of the commune in 2024 will reach 60.2 million VND/person.

Mr. Y MBinh, from Phai Kol Rru Dang village, came from a poor family and has become well-off thanks to the government's support. With 3 hectares of land growing cashews and coffee, he escaped poverty after receiving 40 million VND in capital support from the State, along with his own savings to build a solid 100m2 house.
Mr. Y MBinh expressed his gratitude: "I am very grateful to the Party and the State and will continue to work hard and raise my children to succeed in life."

The family of Mr. Truong Minh Dung, Nghia Hoa village, Dak Nia commune, owns an agricultural product purchasing company and a fertilizer dealer, both enriching the family and creating jobs for the community.
Every year, Mr. Dung's family donates about 30 million VND to charity and poverty reduction activities. Mr. Dung supports credit for 5-7 households in difficulty, and also provides fertilizers and plant care chemicals without interest.
Mr. Dung shared: “We realize that as citizens, contributing to the development of the commune is our responsibility. Therefore, my family always actively participates in and supports the construction of the advanced new rural areas of the commune.”

During the process of building the new rural area, Dak Nia commune government always identifies the people as the center and the force directly benefiting from the results.
The commune regularly strengthens dialogue and connection between the government and the people, thereby enhancing trust and effectively mobilizing internal strength.
From a commune facing many difficulties, Dak Nia has now completed 19/19 criteria of the advanced NTM. The achievements are a vivid proof of the solidarity and consensus of the political system and the entire people.
