Farmers of Xuan Huy commune compete in good production and business

Identifying the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" as a key, core task and of great significance, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the locality, the Farmers' Association of Xuan Huy commune has continued to direct the development of a plan to implement the emulation movement, thereby attracting, gathering, mobilizing farmer households to register, evaluate and recognize the title of good farmer households in production and business.

Mr. Do Xuan Tiep's household in Zone 1 raises over 1,500 pairs of breeding pigeons, selling 12,000 pigeons to the market each year, and after deducting expenses, earns over 100 million VND/year.

Through the movement, many typical examples of farmers who are good at production and business, creative, dare to think, dare to do, boldly apply scientific and technological advances, advanced technology to invest in expanding production and business, forming economic models of households, farm economies, branch models, professional farmer associations, cooperatives, and cooperatives linked in production, processing, and consumption of products according to the value chain, bringing high economic efficiency.

In particular, some households have boldly invested in developing production and business in the direction of developing family economy, generating income and improving their lives, such as Mr. Do Xuan Tiep - Zone 1, Tran Manh Dung - Zone 4, Hoang Phi - Zone 5, Hoang Van Ngoc - Zone 6... In addition, the Association also directed each branch with the spirit of mutual love and support to register to help members in difficulty with working days and breeding animals so that households have the conditions to develop their economy and escape poverty.

Being led by the Commune Farmers' Association to visit Mr. Do Xuan Tiep's household - Zone 1, seeing the farm with my own eyes, I could see all the efforts he had made to escape poverty of his family. Currently, Mr. Tiep raises over 1,500 pairs of breeding pigeons, selling 12,000 to the market each year, deducting expenses, earning over 100 million VND/year. Mr. Tiep excitedly shared: "To have today, thanks to the support from the Commune Farmers' Association, my family has boldly applied technical advances, invested in raising pigeons and raising free-range ducks, thereby making our family's life more prosperous than before."

In order to promote and improve the effectiveness of emulation movements, the Association also regularly focuses on training, fostering, and supporting groups of good farmers, good businessmen, and excellent farmers with sufficient capacity and conditions to establish professional associations and cooperatives. In 2024, 1 professional association for safe vegetable growing and 1 cooperative for banana growing were established, achieving 100% of the plan. At the same time, promote agricultural, forestry, and fishery extension activities; organize well the supply of agricultural materials.

At the same time, the Association coordinated with Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company to open a training course on transferring scientific and technical knowledge to 70 members on how to use microbial fertilizers; coordinated with the District and Commune Agricultural Extension to open 3 training courses on transferring scientific and technical knowledge to officials and farmer members, including 1 class on spring rice care, 1 class on corn planting and care, and 1 class on aquaculture. In addition, 485 officials and members who are good farmers and businessmen were guided to access scientific and technical advances in production through the integrated conferences organized by the Commune Farmers' Association and its branches.

In implementing emulation movements associated with new rural construction, the Association has actively mobilized members and farmers to participate in: Coordinating to build over 1,040 m of power lines and flower electric lines of the "Light of my hometown" model at branch 3; upgrading and renovating the power lines of the "Light of my hometown" model at branch 1. The total cost of renovating and building new models at branches 1 and 3 in 2024 is over 80 million VND.

Mobilize members to actively participate in donating land, contributing money, and working days to participate in building new rural areas. In 2024, coordinate to mobilize members and farmers to donate ^320m2 of land to build traffic routes in Zone 1. Coordinate to mobilize members to contribute over 900 million to the construction of model new rural residential areas. Participate in the construction and renovation of over 1.5 km of cement concrete roads in residential areas with the motto "The State and the People work together" to complete the target of building new rural areas.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Zone 2 invested in ^2,000m2 of pond to raise snails and frogs. Each year, he sells more than 1 ton of snails to the market, bringing economic efficiency.

Ms. Bui Thu Phuong - President of the Commune Farmers' Association said: Determining the effectiveness of movements, focusing on the grassroots is a key task, playing a decisive role in implementing emulation movements of farmers. In recent times, the Commune Farmers' Association has promoted the effectiveness of its activities, becoming a place to gather, unite, support members in emulation to develop the socio-economy, actively building new rural areas.

To continue to improve the effectiveness of movements, focusing on the grassroots, in the coming time, the Farmers' Association of Xuan Huy commune will continue to synchronously implement many solutions, continue to innovate the content and form of activities in a practical direction. Pay attention to the rights and obligations of members, especially issues that members need support and help, create motivation for members to stick with the organization, thereby contributing to improving the lives of members.
