The 11th Vietnam Arabica Coffee Quality Selection Competition 2025 took place on April 24, at Da Lat University (Lam Dong), to find the best Arabica coffee producing households in the 2024-2025 crop in Vietnam.
The competition is co-organized by UCC Vietnam Company (UCC Group Japan), La Viet Coffee Company (Da Lat) and the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry of Da Lat University, aiming to connect coffee growers with producers, share cultivation and processing solutions, and evaluate the quality of coffee beans according to SCA standards (Specialty Coffee Association).
The competition was attended by coffee farmers from Lam Dong province and guests who work in the coffee industry in Ho Chi Minh City and many other provinces.

Before that, the coffee samples participating in the competition must go through a preliminary round for the organizing committee to taste, score, and select samples for the final round. The coffee samples that make it to the final round are scored by judges who are coffee experts from different countries and regions.
The SCA's judging criteria include 10 criteria: aroma, complex flavor, aftertaste, acidity, thickness, uniformity, cleanliness, sweetness between cups, balance, and overall flavor. The organizing committee selects the best coffee samples for awards.

According to the organizers, after 10 years of organization, the competition has contributed to connecting local farmers, sharing farming and processing methods, gradually improving the quality of Vietnamese Arabica coffee in a sustainable way.
At the same time, contribute to promoting the quality and image of Vietnamese coffee to the Japanese and international markets.
The Vietnamese flag will appear on the packaging of the award-winning coffee.
At the end of the contest, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to farmer Ngo Thi Nghe (Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city), the second and third prizes respectively went to farmer Huynh Thi Thanh Huyen (Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city), Hoang Dinh Cuong (Lac Xuan commune, Don Duong district, Lam Dong).
This is the second consecutive time that Cau Dat coffee region (Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city) has had coffee awarded the highest prize at this competition.
According to the organizers, the winning coffee samples will be brought to Japan to be sold in specialty coffee shops of the Japanese UCC Group. Each coffee package will have the Vietnamese national flag printed on it, along with the name of the farmer producing the high-quality coffee.
