Up to now, seed and agricultural material stores in the district have imported about 25 tons of various rice seeds, 6 tons of corn, and more than 3,000 tons of fertilizer to supply to people for spring crop production.
Not only the two districts above, farmers in the whole province have been stepping up preparations for spring crop production. In the spring crop of 2024, the whole province plans to plant over 43,000 hectares of various crops. To ensure a reasonable crop time frame and seed structure, right from the beginning of the crop, the provincial agricultural sector has issued documents guiding the seed structure, planting season, care techniques and plans to cope with cold air, severe cold, and damaging cold, while focusing on preparing agricultural materials well, focusing on irrigation work.
Up to now, agricultural material suppliers in the area have imported about 21,000 tons of fertilizer and 360 tons of various seeds to ensure meeting the production needs of the people. At the same time, it is recommended that people sow rice, corn, etc. within the crop time frame, avoid sowing when the temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius and apply appropriate cold protection measures for crops; use rice and corn varieties with high yield and quality, and good resistance to pests and drought. For vegetables, it is recommended that people take care of spring vegetables, water sufficiently, add potassium and phosphate fertilizers, and combine composting with humus, straw, and stubble to keep plants warm and moist; apply scientific and technical advances to production to increase productivity and product quality.
