On January 23, Mr. Tran Minh Xuan, Vice Principal of Chau Van Liem High School (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City), confirmed that a test tube explosion had just occurred at the school while a teacher was teaching.
Accordingly, on the morning of the same day, during the 5th period, students of class 11A10 were practicing chemistry in the school's chemistry classroom. Teacher Thai Minh Nhat was instructing 5 students in the practice when a test tube exploded. Fragments of the test tube hit 5 students, causing skin injuries and bleeding.

Immediately, Mr. Nhat, medical staff and some teachers took the 5 students to An Cu Ward medical station for examination, first aid and wound dressing. After that, the school transferred these students to Can Tho City General Hospital for examination and monitoring.
After examination, the doctors allowed the three students to go home. All three students are in stable health, with only minor skin injuries. The two students whose skin was cut by a broken test tube were examined by the doctor, and their health is stable and they are continuing to be monitored at the hospital.
After the incident, representatives of Chau Van Liem High School were present to promptly encourage students and discuss the incident with parents. At the same time, they directed the professional department to investigate the cause of the test tube explosion to have a basis for working with parents.
