Striving to overcome difficulties, ensuring social security rights for people

In the context that the Social Insurance (SI) sector is implementing many major policies such as restructuring the apparatus, applying new regulations from the Social Insurance Law 2024 and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Health Insurance Law (HI), Tien Giang Social Insurance has proactively taken action right from the first months of the year, with the results achieved in the first quarter of 2025 not only demonstrating the spirit of effort and determination of the whole sector, but also making an important contribution to ensuring social security in the province.

Conference to review and deploy tasks for the second quarter of 2025.

Tien Giang Provincial Social Insurance held a conference to discuss and deploy tasks for the second quarter of 2025.

By the end of March 2025, the whole Tien Giang province had 234 thousand people participating in social insurance, reaching 87.4% of the plan (accounting for 31.3% of the working-age workforce, up 1.3% over the same period). The number of people participating in health insurance at the provincial social insurance agency reached over 1.57 million people (the rate reached 94.6% of the province's population, up 0.6% over the same period).

Total revenue from social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance (SI) in the first quarter reached VND1,523 billion, equivalent to 22.3% of the annual plan (an increase of VND206 billion over the same period). In particular, the payment of benefits to beneficiaries was carried out promptly and fully, with a total expenditure of up to VND1,078 billion, contributing to stabilizing the lives of tens of thousands of people in the province, of which the payment of monthly pensions and SI benefits through non-cash means reached 81.36%.

With over 887,000 health examinations and treatments covered by health insurance with a total cost of over VND303 billion, the provincial Social Insurance has also advanced VND250 billion to health examination and treatment facilities in the first quarter; at the same time, continued to advance VND270.8 billion in the second quarter to facilitate health examination and treatment facilities to provide health care for health insurance participants.

Speaking at the April 2025 meeting, Director of Tien Giang Social Insurance Vo Khanh Binh emphasized: “In the face of many difficulties such as streamlining the apparatus, shortage of personnel and major changes in policies, the whole industry has made great efforts. The targets for developing subjects, revenue and expenditure have all reached positive levels. The social insurance coverage rate of over 31%, health insurance of nearly 95% is the result of synchronous participation from the province to the grassroots. This is an important foundation for the whole industry to complete the social security target in 2025”.

In the spirit of "proactive, drastic, effective", Tien Giang Social Insurance will continue to promote the development of participants, especially voluntary social insurance and family health insurance; improve the quality of service for people and businesses; effectively apply digital transformation; strengthen inspection of the implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies at units; review and promptly resolve pension regimes for retired officials according to the new decree; continue to reorganize and rearrange the apparatus, ensuring efficiency and continuity so as not to affect the activities of people and businesses.

Comrade Vo Khanh Binh affirmed: "We believe that, with the spirit of solidarity, initiative and creativity of the leadership and staff, Tien Giang Social Insurance will continue to fulfill its assigned tasks well, contributing to ensuring social security in the province."
