An Khe Bamboo and Rattan Cooperative (Thanh Khe District) is one of the typical cooperatives of the city and is a cooperative that develops sustainably according to the new cooperative model. Established in 1978, the cooperative now produces handicrafts, rattan furniture for export; purchases, pre-processes, and processes rattan raw materials. The cooperative has 29 members with 80 employees.

The units involved in production for the Cooperative are about 150 households in the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Binh , and Thai Binh. Mr. Nguyen Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of An Khe Bamboo and Rattan Cooperative, said that the Cooperative's input partners are currently stable, and in addition to traditional customers, the Cooperative has developed new customers, signed many contracts, and promoted the consumption of the Cooperative's products.

Many orders have been signed with increasingly large volumes of products consumed both domestically and internationally, continuing to create jobs and stable income for members and local workers with an average income of 8 million VND/worker/month. After more than 45 years of construction and development, from the initial foundation, the Cooperative continues to invest, innovate technology, design and build management software systems, and design product models suitable for the production situation. The invested machinery and equipment bring about efficiency in labor productivity. On the other hand, the Cooperative also actively participates in local social activities.

Meanwhile, established and put into operation since 2006, Lien Chieu Auto Cooperative operates with services of fixed-route and contract passenger transport, freight transport, tourist transport, spare parts trading, auto repair, mechanical construction... The Cooperative is managing 100 vehicles, of which 35 are passenger cars and 65 are cargo trucks.

Mr. Tran Nhat Khanh, Director of Lien Chieu Automobile Cooperative, informed that in the context of economic impacts and difficulties in mechanisms and regulations specific to the transportation industry, the Cooperative always strives to operate and achieve many results in production and business. Accordingly, the Cooperative ensures revenue, stabilizes jobs and lives for staff and members of the Cooperative; the average income of workers in the Cooperative in 2024 is 8 million VND/worker/month. The Cooperative is always proactive in finding customers, signing many contracts with partners in transportation, tourism, and repair. “With awareness, responsibility and determination, the cooperative has built a brand and image of a professional auto repair shop. At the same time, we always ensure harmony between production development and environmental protection, considering this one of the core tasks for the cooperative's activities to develop further,” Mr. Khanh shared.

Comprehensive and sustainable development

According to statistics, there are 160 cooperatives in the city, with a total charter capital of more than 417 billion VND. The cooperatives attract 9,599 members, creating jobs for more than 15,000 workers. The City Cooperative Union said that in 2024, despite many economic difficulties, cooperatives received attention, support, and favorable conditions from the city, departments, branches, and sectors to develop production and business, and create more jobs for members and workers. In the development process, a number of cooperatives have focused on digital transformation, applying information technology to operations, contributing to improving labor productivity and increasing access to product consumption markets.

Notably, newly established cooperatives are made up of young, qualified and enthusiastic individuals with a tendency to prioritize choosing cooperative models for starting a business. Cooperatives managed and operated by young workers have increased steadily and are operating very effectively in new fields such as healthcare, information technology, tourism, etc. Many cooperatives have become models chosen as research destinations and learning experiences by working groups inside and outside the city, such as Hoa Bac Ecological Agriculture and Community Tourism Cooperative, Do 37 Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative, Cam Le Bamboo Tube Cha Cooperative, Phu Son Village Cooperative, Da Nang Community Health Care Cooperative, Viet Sun Cooperative, etc.

In the coming time, the City Cooperative Union will continue to promote propaganda, consultation, guidance and support to strive to establish new cooperatives.
