According to statistics, in the first 9 months of 2024, the capital's agricultural sector has implemented many agricultural extension models in cultivation and livestock breeding according to the plan and time frame. Crops have grown well, and spring rice has yielded high yield and quality.
Typically, the model of high-quality rice production according to VietGAP associated with product consumption is carried out in two crops, on a scale of 100 hectares. In which, the Spring crop on a scale of 50 hectares is carried out on TBR225 rice varieties (with the gene for resistance to bacterial leaf blight) and HD11, which are planned to be concentrated on fertile land, using tray seedlings and mechanical transplanting.
Regarding fruit trees, a typical model is the intensive grapefruit cultivation model according to VietGAP, certified, with a scale of 19.7 hectares, implemented on Dien grapefruit variety. Households participating in the model are trained and properly implement grapefruit intensive cultivation techniques according to VietGAP production process, fully recording production logs. The first testing and analysis of soil and water samples at the model sites are all below the threshold, ensuring compliance with VietGAP production regulations.
In aquaculture, up to now, the livestock herds have been growing healthily, without any disease outbreaks. A typical example is the breeding cow model implemented in 2023 - 2024, with a scale of 170 Zebu cows (Shind crossbred, Brahman crossbred...). The capital's agricultural sector has introduced breeding cow breeds in areas with grazing grounds, key breeding areas rich in green food and applied artificial insemination methods with the 3B breed specializing in meat, in order to increase the number of breeding cows and beef cattle output supplied to the capital.
In addition, the aquaculture model follows VietGAP standards with a scale of 25 hectares, releasing 225 thousand V1 carp and 150 thousand tilapia. Currently, the fish are healthy, growing well and evenly. Carp weigh from 640 - 660 grams/fish, tilapia weigh from 640 - 660 grams/fish.
According to agricultural experts, although many positive results have been achieved, agricultural extension activities in the first 9 months of 2024 still encountered a number of objective and unavoidable difficulties.
Accordingly, the negative impacts of climate change, the complicated development of crop and livestock diseases, always posing the risk of outbreaks, are unpredictable. In particular, storm No. 3 also caused significant damage affecting the productivity and output of some models, while some other crop models could not be implemented due to too much rain.
Besides, we also have to face many other difficulties and challenges such as: unstable prices of agricultural products and input materials, which have directly affected agricultural production and the direction and implementation of the center's models.
In my opinion, in the coming time, the capital's agricultural sector needs to plan and implement remedial measures, from sowing seeds to promptly produce when the weather is favorable, replanting medicinal plants, taking care of damaged areas, and adjusting production processes to suit actual conditions.
At the same time, focus on evaluating and summarizing the remaining models, continue to support models such as: Continue to implement the 2024-2025 breeding cow model with a scale of 40 cows; provide support for breeds and materials from the beginning of October 2024 for the commercial pig breeding model... In addition, continue to cooperate with international organizations such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to enhance the agricultural production value chain in Hanoi.
