Efforts to provide capital to help poor households rise up

BHG - In recent times, the Transaction Office of the Bank for Social Policies (BSP) in Dong Van district has effectively carried out the task of bringing capital to the poor and poor households, contributing to promoting economic development, improving life, and changing the face of rural highlands.

Currently, the total capital of the Dong Van District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has reached 455,066 billion VND, an increase of 17,898 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year. Of which: Balanced capital from the Central Government has reached 386,363 billion VND, accounting for 84.9% of total capital; capital entrusted from the local budget is 14,011 billion VND, accounting for 3.1% of total capital. Capital mobilized from organizations and individuals has reached 46,369 billion VND, an increase of 1,313 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year; capital received from deposits through the Savings and Loan Group (TK&VV) has reached 8,323 billion VND, an increase of 2,329 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year.

By the end of March 2025, the unit's lending turnover reached VND 15,219 billion with 238 households borrowing capital; debt collection turnover reached VND 12,079 billion. Total outstanding debt reached VND 445,962 billion/9,362 customers; an increase of VND 10,434 billion compared to the beginning of the year; overdue debt ratio was 0.09%. The main lending programs are preferential loans for poor households; loans for newly escaped poverty households; loans for households producing and doing business in difficult areas and loans for job creation.

In order to actively bring capital closer to the people, especially poor households, the Transaction Office also regularly coordinates closely with four socio-political organizations of the district including the Women's Union, the Farmers' Association, the Veterans' Association and the District Youth Union to provide loans and manage credit capital. At the same time, it strengthens the operation and improves the quality of the Savings and Credit Group, to do a good job of propaganda, encouraging and mobilizing people to boldly borrow capital, change their economic development mindset; integrate policy capital with local economic development programs. The unit also proactively and strictly monitors capital, uses capital effectively, for the right purpose and recovers capital to promptly circulate capital flows more and more widely to other subjects.

Policy capital helps Mr. Vang Mi Say's household, Nhu Xa village, Thai Phin Tung commune (Dong Van) have the motivation to develop livestock farming.

In addition, implementing the Policy Credit Management application, up to now, the whole district has 260 Savings and Credit Groups that have conducted transactions on the Policy Credit Management software, reaching 98.5%. In particular, at the commune transaction point with a fixed transaction date every month, it also actively contributes to bringing policy credit to people in a timely manner according to the motto "Transaction at home, disbursement, debt collection at the commune".

Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen, Director of the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Dong Van District, said: In order to carry out the assigned tasks, the unit has been actively implementing loan programs, creating conditions for thousands of households to develop production and business, bringing high economic efficiency. Up to now, not only is it a "support" for poor households and policy beneficiaries, but policy credit capital also helps change awareness, promote self-reliance, improve the quality of life of people, especially in difficult and border communes. To contribute to improving the quality of people's lives and ensuring social security in the area, in the coming time, the Transaction Office will promote propaganda work, improve the effectiveness of the Savings and Credit Group. Regularly check and guide people to use the loan capital after disbursement for the right purpose. Strictly manage debt to each Savings and Credit Group, each borrower, not to let overdue debt arise. This will help poor households and policy beneficiaries quickly access policy credit capital to invest in effective production and business development; create jobs, stabilize their lives and escape poverty sustainably.
