With the perception that the second quarter of each year is the peak of the dry season, this is also the beginning of the hot season, industrial production and electricity consumption grow strongly, especially in industrial zones, causing great pressure on ensuring electricity supply for the entire system.
EVN requires member units to focus their efforts on performing tasks under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister to strive to successfully complete the 2025 plan tasks. In which the key task is to ensure electricity supply.
Regarding electricity production and supply, EVN focuses its efforts on ensuring electricity supply for production and consumption during the peak dry season months of 2025. In particular, it closely coordinates with NSMO in establishing a method for operating the national power system to ensure sufficient electricity supply for production, business and consumption.
Coordinate operations, optimally mobilize power sources in the power system, combine to increase maximum transmission from the Central region to the North and regulate to keep water in hydroelectric reservoirs at a reasonable level until the end of the dry season in 2025 to increase available capacity for hydroelectric plants.
Power Generation Corporations and power generation units ensure sufficient fuel for power production according to system demand, are ready to operate generators that meet the operating methods and reserve power sources as required by NSMO; strictly implement technical management, inspection, and review of processes and regulations in operation and maintenance to ensure the availability and reliability of generators.
The National Power Transmission Corporation operates the power grid safely and reliably; strengthens inspection and thoroughly handles equipment defects and risks of line corridor violations to ensure stable operation of power lines and transformer stations.
Power Corporations/Power Companies shall develop and implement backup plans to ensure stable and continuous power supply in areas producing essential goods, industrial parks, export processing zones and densely populated areas; proactively monitor developments, closely follow local economic and social development, be responsible for analyzing the structure of load components, improve the quality of load forecasting and prepare power supply scenarios; continue to implement Directive No. 20 on promoting and implementing electricity saving.
Regarding investment in power source construction, EVN focuses on urging the acceleration of construction progress of key power source projects, ensuring the goal of starting construction of the Tri An Hydropower Expansion Project in April 2025.
Regarding investment in power grid construction: Continue to focus on implementing urgent power source and grid projects. Specifically, the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line; Hoa Binh hydropower expansion, Quang Trach 1 thermal power plant, implementing the main construction of Bac Ai pumped storage hydropower project, underground cable power supply project for Con Dao district, etc.
To reduce difficulties in operating the power system during the dry months and prolonged hot weather, and minimize the risk of power failures due to increased demand for electricity - especially in the North, EVN hopes to continue to receive the sharing and active cooperation of people and electricity customers through thoroughly using electricity economically, especially during peak hours at noon and in the evening.
In particular, pay special attention to using air conditioning reasonably, only turn on the air conditioner when really necessary, set the temperature at 26-27 0 C or higher; at the same time, pay attention not to use many high-capacity electrical devices at the same time during peak hours.
