Software sales have now surpassed 1.133 billion units. Nintendo said that this year's software sales were boosted by major releases like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , as well as The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which had a positive impact on Mario game sales, with 5 million units sold this year.
Overall, Nintendo’s console continues to perform well, even as rumors of its successor are swirling around the corner. Industry speculation has the next console aiming for a September 24, 2024 release date, with a November 3, 2024 fallback if there’s a delay.
The Switch successor will reportedly come in two models, a standard $449 version and a digital-only $399 model. Both will apparently support features like high-end graphics like Nvidia DLSS 3.5 and Ray Reconstruction.
However, Nintendo has remained quiet and has not officially announced a successor to the Switch, or addressed rumors that it brought the device backstage at Gamescom 2023.
