According to Gaming Bolt , Nintendo recently shared lifetime sales figures for various gaming consoles, including its Nintendo Switch.
Specifically, as of September 30th, the company had sold 132.46 million Switch units. The most recent milestone was 129.53 million units, meaning the company sold approximately 2.93 million units in the past quarter, bringing the total to 6.84 million in the first half of fiscal year 24, a slight decrease compared to the same period last year.

Software sales have now surpassed 1.133 billion units. Nintendo stated that this year's software sales were driven by major releases such as Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , as well as The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which positively impacted Mario game sales, with 5 million copies sold this year.
Overall, Nintendo's gaming consoles continue to perform well, even amidst rumors of an impending successor. Industry speculation suggests the next console will target a release date of September 24, 2024, with a potential delay and a backup date of November 3, 2024.
According to reports, the successor to the Switch will come in two models: a standard version priced at $449 and a digital-only model priced at $399. Both appear to support high-end graphics features such as Nvidia DLSS 3.5 and Ray Reconstruction.
However, Nintendo has remained silent and has not officially announced a successor to the Switch, nor addressed rumors that they brought the device backstage at Gamescom 2023.
