Ninh Thuan launches campaign to eliminate temporary housing in 90 days and nights

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested Ninh Thuan province to strive to be one of the top five provinces in the country in completing the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

On March 29, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung attended the launching ceremony of 90 days and nights responding to the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ninh Thuan province.

According to the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province, recently the locality has mobilized the entire political system to carry out social security activities, in which the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is the top priority.

Up to now, Ninh Thuan province has mobilized resources to build and repair 655 houses (45%) and is currently continuing to mobilize the construction and repair of nearly 1,000 houses in 7 districts and cities.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam , Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, said that currently, thousands of households in the province are still living in makeshift, dilapidated, unsafe houses. This is a major concern of the Party Committee, government and people of Ninh Thuan province.

"In the next 90 days and nights, the province will mobilize all resources to speed up the construction and repair of dilapidated houses, create a movement to compete for the poor , and be determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by June 30," said Mr. Nam.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor is not only a political task but also a vivid manifestation of the spirit of solidarity and mutual love, a precious tradition of our nation .

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested Ninh Thuan province to review and accurately identify cases in need of support, ensuring no duplication or omission of difficult cases. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on inspection and supervision to ensure quality and avoid future recurrence of temporary housing.

"In addition to progress, the quality of each house must ensure three things: a hard foundation, a hard wall frame and a hard roof, so that each house is a sustainable home for the people," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung presented 500 million VND in support of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Ninh Thuan province to the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province.

Representatives of agencies and businesses in the province also joined hands to support nearly 30 billion VND to implement the program.
