Comrade Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee said: Since the time Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was honored as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage, Ninh Binh tourism has made great strides.
In particular, in the first 9 months of 2024, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 7,297 thousand visitors, an increase of more than 32% over the same period last year, reaching nearly 97.3% of the 2024 plan. In 2024, Ninh Binh tourism industry strives to welcome 8,482 thousand visitors, an increase of 25.8% over the same period in 2023. Of which, accommodation establishments strive to welcome over 1,914 thousand visitors, an increase of 39%; tourism revenue is estimated at over VND 8,885.8 billion, an increase of 35.8% over the same period last year. For many consecutive years, Ninh Binh has maintained its position in the top 15 destinations, the 10 provinces attracting the highest number of visitors in the country.
However, although Ninh Binh's tourism products are diverse and highly connected, they have not had many breakthroughs, lacking in discovery, adventure, and modern tourism products... Therefore, organizing the first Hot Air Balloon Festival in Ninh Binh will create opportunities for the province to have new, modern, unique, and distinctive tourism products, contributing to diversifying tourism products, creating attractiveness, attracting a large number of people and domestic and international tourists. At the same time, it will strengthen the promotion of the image of the tourism destination brand, culture, people, potential, and advantages for tourism development of Ninh Binh province.
Accordingly, the Trang An-Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival 2024 will take place from October 26 to 29 at two locations: Trang An Cultural Park and Cuc Phuong Commune Stadium (Nho Quan).
The festival has 35 hot air balloons and paragliders, of which 13 hot air balloons and 22 paragliders are piloted by foreign pilots and the Hanoi City Paragliding Club.
The opening ceremony will take place on the morning of October 26 at Trang An Cultural Park. The time for people and tourists to experience flying and hanging hot air balloons is from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 16:30 to 21:00. For sightseeing activities, taking photos and checking in with the hot air balloon performance is held from 7:30 to 9:30 and from 15:30 every day.
The festival will feature the Nho Quan District Gong Team and the Khanh Tien Drum Team (Yen Khanh). The Organizing Committee will also arrange 120 booths displaying specialties from regions across the country, gift booths for tourists, and tourism booths from the provinces.
In addition, during the festival days, visitors will enjoy the light show and the "Heritage Flavors" Fashion Show, showcasing national costumes.

The Trang An-Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival 2024 will perform 2 forms of hot air balloon flights: free flight and hanging flight.
Trang An-Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival promises to bring visitors an extremely impressive experience and an interesting, unforgettable feeling when admiring from above the beautiful, majestic space of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage - Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and Cuc Phuong National Park, 6 consecutive years honored as "Asia's Leading National Park".
The event is also an opportunity to promote the image of the tourist destination brand, culture, people, potential and advantages of tourism development of Ninh Binh province.
Up to this point, all preparations for the Trang An-Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival 2024 have been basically completed.
The Department of Tourism has requested the Hot Air Balloon Association and Ballooning Media International Hot Air Balloon Company Limited to only organize the above event after completing all related procedures (safety, fire prevention, flight licensing...) according to current regulations of the State.
At the same time, preside over and coordinate with the unit organizing the hot air balloon flight to select experienced pilots with expertise in hot air balloon flying, ensuring quality and safety; develop a detailed flight schedule, ensuring suitability and efficiency. Actively coordinate to implement conditions and procedures for foreign pilots and assistants participating in controlling hot air balloons at the event.
In addition, the tourism industry has focused on propaganda, promotion, and event introduction on digital platforms, decorating flags, and hanging banners on some main roads and downtown areas of Ninh Binh city.
The representative of the Department of Tourism also emphasized: Hot air balloon and paragliding activities are new and adventurous forms of tourism, so the Organizing Committee always puts security and safety first.
The Department of Tourism will closely coordinate with relevant units to develop plans to ensure security, order, traffic safety, fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue; deploy medical and insurance measures to ensure the safety of tourists and delegates participating in the festival.
