Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and its circulation, heavy to very heavy rains have occurred in the province, causing damage to agricultural production, aquaculture and people's lives.
Aquaculture households in Gia Hoa commune (Gia Vien) reinforce pond banks to prepare for the new crop.
During the recent flood, nearly 3,200 hectares of aquaculture were damaged in the province, including over 3,000 hectares of traditional fish farming, 26 hectares of catfish farming, and 133 hectares of shrimp farming.
Currently, localities are focusing on directing the handling of disinfection, sterilization, ensuring environmental sanitation, hygienic domestic water, disease prevention for people and livestock, and preventing epidemics from occurring.
The province directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant departments and branches to establish delegations to localities to direct the work of overcoming consequences and restoring production after floods.
To support people in restoring production, as soon as the water recedes, the People's Committees of communes direct households and mobilize mass organizations to carry out a general environmental cleaning of farming areas; reinforce embankments and drainage canal systems; pull nets to check and remove miscellaneous fish and estimate the remaining fish; clean and disinfect the pond environment, and release additional fish fry into the ponds at the right density and stocking structure.
