To have 5 consecutive days off, civil servants and public employees will swap working days from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26.
Agencies and units implementing the holiday schedule for Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1 must arrange and organize the departments on duty according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensure good service to the organization and the people, in which pay attention to assigning officers and civil servants on duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during the Tet and holiday holidays according to regulations.
For agencies and units that do not have a fixed weekly Saturday and Sunday off schedule, the specific program and plan of the unit should be used to arrange a suitable holiday schedule, in accordance with the provisions of law.
For employees at enterprises, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs guides and encourages employers to apply the holiday time for Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
Thus, on the occasion of the Victory Day of April 30 and International Labor Day of May 1 this year, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the State sector who are currently on a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday off every week will have their working days swapped from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26 to have 5 consecutive days off.
For private sector employees, the number of days off will be decided by the employer, ensuring at least 2 days off: Victory Day 30/4 and International Labor Day 1/5 as prescribed. The exchange of days off and compensatory work will depend on the agreement between the employer and the employee.
According to the Labor Code, in cases of exchanging working days to create conditions for employees to have longer days off, employers are not obliged to pay additional wages to employees who have to work in compensation for weekly days off./.
