Positive changes in ethnic minorities,

Thanks to the timely and synchronous implementation of ethnic policies, in recent years, the socio-economic life of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Muong Lat district (Thanh Hoa) has had positive changes. In particular, the district has promoted the implementation of Project 1, supporting poor households to build houses, residential land, and production land for ethnic minorities.

Muong Lat district is currently implementing 10 projects under the National Target Program 1719, with a total capital allocated by the Central Government in the first 8 months of 2024 of more than 163 billion VND. Up to now, the district has disbursed more than 83 billion VND, reaching 51% of the allocated capital plan, with many projects showing clear effectiveness in improving the lives of people in remote and isolated areas.

Typically, Project 1, housing support content in 2024, the district allocated 880 million VND to build 22 houses meeting the "3 hard" standards including: hard foundation, hard wall frame and hard roof. In Pu Nhi commune alone, 3 households have received housing support, of which one household is implementing, 2 households are preparing to accept the foundation. Nhi Son commune has 4 households, has completed the foundation and disbursed 50% of the funding. Trung Ly commune has 6 newly implemented households; Muong Lat town has supported 9 households, has disbursed 70% of the funding.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction, 100% of communes and towns in the district have increased investment in infrastructure and improved access to basic services, ensuring social security. As a result, the poverty rate in Muong Lat has decreased significantly, from 55.8% in 2021 to about 39% in 2024. The average income per capita has reached more than 25 million VND/year, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been significantly improved and enhanced.

It can be seen that the National Target Program 1719 and sustainable poverty reduction not only help improve people's lives, but also create a solid foundation for socio-economic development.
