The team from the University of Science and Technology presented the Nursing Robot project integrating AIoT and automatic navigation.
On October 12, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) organized the final round of the Bach khoa Innovation 2024 (BKI) competition with the competition of teams from start-up, student, and pupil categories.
In this morning's competition, the teams went through 2 rounds: a presentation round to select the 6 most impressive teams in each group to advance to the final round.
In the student category, the teams that entered the final round were the following projects: Nursing robot integrated with AIoT and automatic navigation; grilled water cafe project; project to turn durian peel into environmentally friendly materials; project to recycle banana tree trunks into biodegradable tools; multifunctional car diagnostic tool project; project to cook chicken-flavored salt with lemongrass.
The judges evaluated the competition based on criteria including problem solution, market opportunity, market approach strategy, business and financial model, team and advisors, and presentation.
The Nursing Robot project integrating AIoT and automatic navigation by students of the University of Technology won first prize, receiving a prize of 30 million VND, 1,000 USD and a support package.
The two second prizes went to the grilled water cafe project and the project of turning durian peel into environmentally friendly materials.
The two third prizes were a project to recycle banana stems into biodegradable tools and a project to create a multifunctional car diagnostic tool.

The Bach Khoa Innovation 2024 competition continues to affirm itself as a dynamic and professional academic playground for individuals and organizations passionate about scientific research and innovation when attracting up to 91 participating teams. Of which, the student category has the participation of 59 teams, the high school student category has 20 teams and especially the start-up category recorded many positive signals in the first implementation with 12 competing teams.
Within the framework of the competition, the University of Technology announced the strategic plan for the Innovation Competition for the period 2025-2030.
The vision of Bách khoa Innovation in the period of 2025-2030 is to become the leading innovation and startup competition in Southeast Asia. Regarding the competition boards, in addition to the startup, student and pupil boards, the competition is expected to have additional boards related to businesses.
