Fifteen innovative companies are showcasing their sustainable solutions at RMIT University Hanoi. Notably, even the exhibition booths demonstrate their commitment to reducing waste and protecting the environment.

The RMIT Alumni Green Business Exhibition is an annual event launched in 2023, to honor sustainable development initiatives, applying ESG (environmental, social, governance) standards.

This year's exhibition showcases products and services from 15 companies, operating in both B2B and B2C markets and spanning a wide range of industries such as agriculture, food, green energy, new materials and recycling technology.

If recycling was the focus of last year's inaugural exhibition – a pioneering event that used a pavilion made entirely of cardboard and recycled materials – this year the focus has shifted to reuse.

The goal is to minimize waste generated by designing booths that can be reused in future events.

Therefore, the booths are designed in a modular form that can be easily assembled, disassembled and reassembled in different configurations without the use of any permanent adhesives.

The materials used are lightweight, made from natural materials without compromising on durability. This makes the booths easy to transport and handle, while also enhancing their reusability.

“By adopting innovative design and green principles, we hope to inspire businesses and event organizers in Vietnam to prioritize sustainability,” said Nguyen Thuy Linh, Deputy Head of Alumni Relations at RMIT Vietnam.

Businesses can reuse their booths for multiple future exhibitions. Regardless of the reuse method, flexible and lightweight booths help reduce shipping costs and environmental impact.

“We value resource recycling and minimizing our environmental impact at every stage of our product lifecycle. We are reviewing the impact of our events and are committed to making long-term changes,” said Linh.

In addition to the exhibition, the school will collect used clothes and books from November 12 to 14 at its Hanoi campus. Participants will then be able to exchange their items at the Green Market on November 15 and 16. The initiative aims to promote reuse and a more sustainable lifestyle for today’s consumers.

The exhibition is open until 17 November 2024 at RMIT Industry and Innovation Hub, 521 Kim Ma, Hanoi. Free admission.
