This is the most serious mistake because the acid in apple cider vinegar will damage tooth enamel, oral mucosa and esophagus. Using more than 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar per day can also lead to hypokalemia, muscle weakness and osteoporosis.

“Some people also combine apple cider vinegar with honey to drink with the hope of treating stomach reflux or ulcers. How to use apple cider vinegar safely

To avoid the above harmful consequences, users should:

  • Always dilute apple cider vinegar with water at a ratio of at least 1:10.
  • Do not combine apple cider vinegar with acidic foods or drinks such as lemons or oranges.
  • Drink apple cider vinegar through a straw to avoid direct contact with teeth, reducing the risk of enamel erosion.

For adults, just 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of apple cider vinegar diluted with 200 ml of water, taken before meals. Doctors do not recommend daily use of apple cider vinegar for children, but if necessary, only 1 teaspoon (5 ml) should be used and must be diluted thoroughly.

If used properly, apple cider vinegar can help the elderly control blood pressure.

Doctor Nguyen Duc said that for middle-aged and elderly people, apple cider vinegar supports the digestive process, especially useful for people with weakened digestive function; helps reduce bad cholesterol, control blood pressure and blood sugar levels more effectively, as well as prevent complications of diabetes.

Here are some notes on how to use apple cider vinegar for middle-aged and elderly people:

  • Use 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of apple cider vinegar mixed with 200 ml of water, drink in the morning or before meals.
  • Do not drink at night and always monitor your body's reaction to stop using if there are signs of irritation.

“It is important that people do their research and consult their doctor or nutritionist before adding apple cider vinegar to their daily diet, especially if they have special health problems,” said Dr. Nguyen Duc.
