Colors of Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day

On April 16, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa town to organize the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day in Khanh Hoa province in 2025. This is an activity in response to the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day on April 19 every year. Attending the event were Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, and localities; and more than 400 artisans, actors, and athletes from 8 districts, towns, and cities in the province.

This year's Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day in the province took place with activities such as: Ethnic Minority Sports Festival; mass art performance; photo exhibition "Colors of Ethnic Culture"; praising examples of contributions to the implementation of ethnic culture policies. Coming to this year's Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day in the province, fans and audiences were able to watch sports competitions such as: Stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tug of war; watch art performances, ethnic fashion shows...

On April 19, 1946, in a letter to the Southern Ethnic Minorities Congress, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “The Kinh or Tho, Muong or Man, Gia Rai or E De, Xo Dang or Ba Na and other ethnic minorities are all descendants of Vietnam, all blood brothers. We live and die together, we are happy and miserable together, we help each other in hunger and fullness…”.

Mr. Dinh Van Thieu and leaders of Ninh Hoa town awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 8 individuals who have made many contributions to the implementation of policies on ethnic culture.

In 2008, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1668, taking April 19 every year as the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day. This is an occasion to honor the fine traditional cultural values of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. The whole province of Khanh Hoa currently has 36 ethnic groups living together in solidarity, closeness, and supporting each other for development. Throughout history, the ethnic groups in Khanh Hoa province have always been united, together overcoming difficulties, actively contributing to the cause of building and protecting the homeland and the country.

At the end of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day in Khanh Hoa province, in the ethnic minority sports event, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Khanh Son district; in the mass art performance event, the first prize to Ninh Hoa town.
