“Happy” houses in Xin Man

BHG - After 4 months of construction, the "Happy" houses have been completed, bringing joy to orphaned students in Xin Man district. Each brick, each sheet of corrugated iron is built with the love and responsibility of the whole community, of the green shirts of volunteer youth. From there, it brings much hope and wings to dreams in everyday life for many unfortunate lives.

Having the opportunity to attend the inauguration ceremony and handover of a new house to a student of Sung Thi La, Mong ethnic group, Nang Cut village, Thu Ta commune, we could feel the joy and happiness of the family next to the warm and affectionate "Happy House". The solid level 4 house has a usable area of ​​nearly 40 m2, with a total construction cost of 80 million VND. Mr. Sung Seo Linh, La's grandfather, was moved: Before, my family had to live in a temporary house, when it rained and was windy, it was very difficult; I am old and often sick so I cannot go to work, it is difficult to take care of food, where can I get money to build a house. Now that the organizations have helped me to have a new house, my family is very happy.

Xin Man District Youth Union and sponsors inaugurated and handed over the house to Sung Van Thanh's family, Nang Cut village, Thu Ta commune.

Sung Thi La, 14 years old, is in a particularly difficult situation, orphaned by both parents. She is living with her 6th grade brother and her grandparents who are nearly 70 years old. In addition to the new house, the family also received many practical gifts such as books, notebooks, rice and necessities from the sponsor. La happily shared: I thank the sponsor, the uncles and aunts for helping me have a decent house. From now on, my grandparents and I can live in a solid house, no longer afraid of rain and wind. I am very touched and promise to try to study hard to become a useful person for society in the future.

Construction started in December 2024, four "Happy Houses" with a total funding of 320 million VND, supporting 80 million VND/house. Each house has an area of ​​35 - 60m², built by the efforts of union members, youth, close coordination of the District Youth Union, the Xin Man District Youth Union, local authorities and especially the heart of the sponsor of the "Strength 2000" Project and the National Volunteer Center. Visiting the house of Then Van Quan (born in 2012, orphaned) in Khau Rom village, Quang Nguyen commune. Quan and his mother are cleaning and preparing to move into a new house. Then Van Quan shared: My family is very happy to be supported to build a new house. I will try to study well to not disappoint everyone's care.

The “Happy Home” project in Xin Man aims to build 4 houses for orphans and disadvantaged students in Thu Ta, Quang Nguyen and Nan Ma communes. Each house is sponsored to provide safer and more sustainable living conditions for the children. In parallel, the “Raising Children” program implemented by the National Volunteer Center has also started to support 500,000 VND/month for 11 children from households receiving houses, ensuring that they have enough living and studying conditions until they are 18 years old.

Secretary of Xin Man District Youth Union Hang Thanh Tung said: From the first bricks to the inauguration day, each stage of the journey has been marked by the green volunteer shirt. The "Happy House" project combined with the "Raising Children" program supported by the National Volunteer Center, not only helps orphaned students have a solid place to live, but also creates a long-term stable foundation for life andeducation . Thereby, contributing to the effective implementation of the temporary housing elimination program in Xin Man area.
