TPO – Before the finishing day, workers at the 500kV line 3 construction site in Nghe An province are urgently pulling wires and installing equipment to hand over the project to the operation management unit for energization.
The 500kV line 3 project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) has a total length of nearly 520km, passing through 9 provinces. The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation. The entire line has 1,177 pole positions and 502 anchorages with a total investment of about 22,300 billion VND. After many months of construction, the shape of the 500kV line 3 through Nghe An province is gradually being completed. |
In Nghe An province, the project is about 100km long, including 202 column foundation locations and 85 corridor anchorages, passing through 6 districts and towns: Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Nam Dan. |
This is a key, urgent project, playing a particularly important role in national energy security. Along with the 500kV line circuit 1 and 2, when completed, the 500kV line circuit 3 will play an important role and significance in supplying and supplementing power sources for the North. |
In the final days of the "sprint" phase, workers at the construction sites of the 500kV line 3 through Nghe An are urgently pulling the connecting wires between the power poles. |
Each group of workers worked urgently to pull the wires and install equipment on the poles to complete the project soon. |
Reels of electric cable are continuously transported to the foot of electric poles for wire pulling. |
Up high, workers had to swing to work. Despite the hot sun and the scorching Lao wind, the workers still clung to the heights to install the power lines. |
Mr. Ha Dinh Huy (46 years old, from Tuong Duong district, Nghe An; residing in Dien Bien province; worker at Song Da 11 Company) said that the hot weather and strong winds in the past few days have made it difficult to pull wires and install power lines. However, with a high spirit of determination, the workers still stick to their jobs to complete the project as soon as possible according to the assigned schedule. |
Each group of workers divided into many stages of work, both above and below ground, so the workers had to communicate with each other via walkie-talkies. “We had to constantly look up to coordinate with the workers on top of the pole to do it correctly and precisely. On sunny days, looking up at the sky for a while made my eyes dizzy,” said Quang Van Quan (born in 1988, residing in Dien Bien province). |
The electric cables are 2,000m-2,400m long and weigh 5-6 tons, so workers must use high-capacity winches to pull the cables. |
Sometimes the electric cables get tangled in obstacles, and the electricians have to grope around in the woods to fix them. |
After hours of hard work, the workers took a break at the foot of the construction site. Some rested, others took the few minutes to call home to check on their wives and children. |
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy General Director of Song Da 11 Joint Stock Company said that the company has mobilized more than 700 workers from various places to Nghe An to work in the "final" phase. Up to now, the company has basically connected the optical fiber cable and lightning protection circuits to 65 electric poles under its responsibility in Nghe An. At the same time, the electric wires are being pulled. "We are making efforts to complete the wire pulling by August 25 and energize and inaugurate before September 2 as requested by the Prime Minister," said Mr. Dung. |
With the high working spirit of the workers, the power poles on the 500kV line 3 are gradually taking shape and reaching the finish line. |
